Well, everyone here knows how supportive I am of VFK. I know they had a rough day today, with more server traffic than expected and probably too much going on in game. But, this really upset me. After trying to go through the Host Event or even trying to log on and just enter a room, I was hoping the lag would let up enough to be able to hunt for eggs. Then a message pops up that the Egg Hunt is done for today? What? The homepage says through Monday.

I understand they might be trying to fix some bugs with the egg hunt, maybe that was part of the problem with room loads, but at least tell us that. I know we are still testing things for them. I look at these days like test days for new activities or crowd levels, but this just makes no sense to me.

King sent in a help message and we will see if he gets an answer as to what is happening. Sigh.

I just got back from Easter dinner at the in-laws (which was good and fun time!) yay!

But, greatly disappointed to log in right away and find that the egg hunt ended (I was looking forward to hunting eggs tonight!)

Would be nice if we knew exact times for these things.

I am really frosted about this too!

VFK NEVER posted specific times for the Egg Hunt. I assumed we could do this at our leisure. Apparently not.

I didn't even start this thing.

I never did get through this evenings Host Teleporter Event, but I did get through this morning -- so that's okay.

As well.. It was a beautiful Easter anyway spent with family and delicious food, and I hope everyone else had a wonderful day too.

Sigh. Add me to the list of disappointed people who were going to hunt eggs later in hopes that lag would be less. Unpleasant surprise for Flamanar & Co.

Funny that ending the games and egg hunt didn't have much of an effect on server load. It's still difficult for me to get on game!

I too am disappointed. I thought it would at least go on till closing and then they would start it up again tomorrow cause I had so many crashing issues that I didn't want to miss the Host line over it so I stopped and was going to do it later on as well.

Its a hunt anyway, so why end a hunt?

Just let people walk around and enjoy themselves.

Yes me too I was sad . But he egg hunt was not fun with the lag. I would hit an egg and I would say by the end I was cracking them and waiting 15 seconds for it to say yes I had it and because I kept clicking it again again I would get 10 messages that I already found that egg.

Some were not working in the fairy fields.

I think VFK was not the only one with issues today. Wizards 101 was disconnecting all the time when hubby and I tried to play. Seems a lot of games were on the screwy.

Maybe its better they extend the egg hunt when the bugs are fixed. I think they will do that. Then we can all have fun finding them instead of the agony of lag city. Seems like an aweful long day of waitng.

And by the tone of Fin's message she had had enough too. Though it was not rude or anything just not so lovely dovey lol.

Also what a pain to have to dump your entire inventory to get 300 eggs.

When are we going to be able to sell these back or at least take some of our usless furniture to the dump. The ones in beta that we can not sit on and do not work right.

OK - Egg Hunt update straight from Vintage. (After we offered a round of drinks for the VFK staff

)

The Egg Hunt is only off shortly to let the servers recover and give the developers a chance to update. She said this was their big "stress test" before Space Age and now they know how many more servers they will need to add. She said for most of the day, they have had over 100 people trying to log in per second! Wow!

She said the entire team has been there for the last several days preparing for today and they still did not imagine this many players would be on.

Oh, and the Hunt is back on!

As long as they realize a lot of those "100" people are the same person just trying again and again to log in once and getting the server is busy message, or retrying after crashing.

Pix, you're right about there being a lot of eggs in the Mermaid store. That store was fun and eyeball bending at the same time, LOL.

I got the feeling though, that the fourth outback room in Australia is the mother-lode. I pulled at least 30 out of there this morning and I am sure I left many. (Best to do the outback rooms in single player mode, it really helped!)

Just a side note, if those outback rooms are killing your eyeballs...I changed the zoom level on my explorer browser to 125% and it made it easier to click those eggs in the outback and countryside rooms.

Think I managed to get 4 golden eggs each on my spare and me, maybe 2 on another spare.

Yep, single mode and zoom level is the way to go! While some are sooo tiny and some are stuck; I was having a blast! But I really hate unloading those tiny eggs into a storage room. Omelettes anyone?

Yeah, 4 golds seems to be the max. Me poor eyeballs...

Doing it in forced single player mode...which helps ALOT.

Really not concentrating on the fourth gold egg right now like pixie said. Just trying to get as many as possible without having to go into fairy or mermaid land. Fourth Australian room does seem to be the motherload...if you don't go blind first. Blech.

Like Wendy said, zooming the browser is a good idea. I'm just too lazy though. lol. -squints-

Thanks to some kind soul, I was informed that after you get the fourth gold egg, get yourself over to King Arthur's Table. There you will find a gold egg in the center of the table to claim! This egg is standing upright. After adding to your inventory, head over to one of your rooms and take this upright gold egg out of inventory. You'll find you can unwrap this egg to get GOLD BUNNY EARS!!!

ANOTHER UPDATE:

VFK seems to have moved around eggs that were stuck previously, and have also added more eggs where there were none before. There are now eggs in the Western Mercantile, Autumn Imports, Victorian Park. Probably some other places that I haven't been to possibly.

It seems a lot easier now than before to make your quota needed for the 4 Golden Eggs, if eggs are un-stuck and they are in places where there were not any eggs before. Happy Hunting. Not sure how much longer the eggs will be around, I haven't seen any updates.

Krazy, please try and hunt some more without going to fairy worlds or merfolk worlds - since your quest isn't done. You'll get your 4th Golden Egg, WITHOUT those worlds.

I tried out the Egg Hunt this morning with my clone. I didn't have any eggs prior to today either. I did not have to even enter Fairy or Merfolk worlds to get enough eggs to get the 4th Golden Egg. Actually, I didn't even have to finish going through all the regular places on the map either. I never even hit all of Australia. Only the Outback and the Zoo, to be exact.

There are far more eggs to click on than before, and there are eggs where there wasn't any yesterday. Ned's Stable is now loaded as well -- yesterday there wasn't any there.

I think yesterday it took me every bit of 45 minutes to an hour to get enough eggs for my 4th Golden Egg. With all the changes today, it took me maybe a half hour - 40 minutes tops.

Good Luck, and please try again! You don't need to go into Fairy or Merfolk Worlds to meet the quota.

Well, I'm certainly glad that VFK is relying on word of mouth to let people know about the gold egg with the gold ears. How much more ridiculous can this get? Hey: I'm getting older every year...my ESP powers have diminished quite alot over the past decade....

They can't be doing stuff like this at the last minute. They need to communicate this.......shtuff...to the player!! OMG...I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT THEY DIDN'T TELL US OF THIS!!! I confess...I am beyond baffled.

Then there is the issue of those who stayed up VERY late last night to try to find the 4 gold eggs...and now there's eggs all over the place.

Gosh! I missed alot from last night!

Luckily I had 4 eggs already; and luckily I saw this post tonight AFTER I was done work today so I ran those little VMK (oops, VFK) legs as fast as they would go to King Arthur's. Luckily the egg was still sitting there!

A big thanks to Astro for sending out in game messages about the gold ears yesterday. I think this whole VFK weekend has done Princess in. She was stressed to the max trying to get extras of things to give away because she knew with no communication friends would miss things. By last night, she was finished - literally. We were supposed to take her mom to the surgeon today, but instead ended up at our own doctor. She is resting now. I jokingly asked the doc for a "Pixie Port" and got a laugh from him when I explained what that meant.

Who knows, maybe they need to make a chalk outline for all of us after the crazy weekend.

We did talk here about the need for better communication. It really did seem like at times they were just "winging it". Don't get me wrong, we are thankful for all of the time they spent on their own holiday weekend for us, but these things need to be spelled out on the homepage. Even just a clue about the ears - something like "Keep hunting those eggs because once you have found 4 golden ones, you may want to go someplace royal where a golden prize awaits you" or something like that.

I guess I will go pass a little gas on ma'am and sir to get 'em to talk.

Well, I am with Wendy! I actually sent them a Help message yesterday stating that I was burned out! And so stressed out to the max that I was taking myself off the game for a few hours! No reply to that......hehe

And I was up most of the night, like others, gathering those little imp connect the dot eggs...and then been on VFK since 9 am doing the Egg Hunt when at 3 pm, with notice whatsoever--- wack! Eggs Begone!

Thoughts and prayers for Wendy and you guys, King. Sad that there was so much stress all the way around. I don't believe it had to be that way. Let's hope that VFK will learn from their mistakes to make holidays like this an enjoyable experience for both player and staff in the future.

Myself, I was ill all day yesterday (enough so that I cancelled a blood test and car inspection), and Flamanette and son were up trying to get eggs until 4:30 this morning for me. Today was my "Remicade Tuesday", so I needed to rest.

Seems like so many things were found out by accident... I don't remember Halloween or even Christmas being like this.

A lot of us when we first started playing this game, were determined to just enjoy the things we did get and the events we did happened to participate in. And not get caught up in the frenzy, like that *cough* vmk *cough* mega quest. I have to keep reminding myself that is what I want for this game, enjoyment. If it is stressful, I'm not playing it right for me. I did enjoy the egg hunt, but it was working on my computer and I had the time to fuss with it yesterday and early this morning. I have a set of gold ears on a second character if someone is really dispointed, please pm me.

Yup I almost fell into the trap. Fortunately I did get exta white bunnies for others. Which I also like doing in VMK. I am not a trader so what else would I do with them. I did not make the chocolate bunny which made me sad, Cause I at least tried to get into a host game. I managed to get some gold ears. So really I am good. Just need to remind myself not to become like VMK I have a life I play other games. So I will just go back to build my what ever I am building

I can say that I was pulled away from the computer alot this weekend just because of stuff making me leave the house; so while I had some stress, it was broken up enough for me.

I'm not a trader either, just like to have 1 of items that I can. But, I do like to get extras when I can for gifting to friends and/or kids that missed out on items.

The "I SURVIVED VFK EASTER 2009" shirts should have "NOW NEEDING PIXIE PORT" on the back.

I have enough stress in my real life right now that I certainly do not need it from my games. Although I participated in all the activities this weekend I didn't drive myself crazy trying to do as much as possible. I just tried to do what I could and have a good time. Of course, it was AFTER the egg hunt ended that I discovered I could get credits for them and that there were gold bunny ears involved. I may have gone ahead and tried a BIT harder if I had realized that.

Hopefully, things will settle down for a while now and give everybody a breather. I'm a little busy Beta testing for Free Realms right now anyway.

Don't get me wrong, we are thankful for all of the time they spent on their own holiday weekend for us, but these things need to be spelled out on the homepage. Even just a clue about the ears - something like "Keep hunting those eggs because once you have found 4 golden ones, you may want to go someplace royal where a golden prize awaits you" or something like that.

I guess I will go pass a little gas on ma'am and sir to get 'em to talk.

Okay, so now I log on and find out they pulled the Egg Hunt. - shakes head -

I realize it was advertised Sunday and Monday...But, nobody told us about the additional Golden Egg either!

I have to agree with everything everyone has said here. I'm picking on you King, because I loved your idea of VFK at least giving a clue as to the whereabouts of the last golden egg. I don't think that would have been too much to ask. They wouldn't have been giving everything away by giving us a simple clue!

Futhermore, it makes me believe that this Egg Hunt was not especially easy to do... Since VFK had to go around and not only fix stuck eggs, but also add dozens and dozens more to make getting those golden eggs easier!

I'm very sadened by the fact that I couldn't reach enough people by way of in game messages. By the time we all found out, it was sooooo late! I thought to myself, I'm trying to message people that I know will be on yet tonight. I tried to not make people upset, by getting a message that would have been to late for them to act on. Personally, I was wiped out as well. I apologize in advance to anyone that didn't get an in game message from me. I was not doing that intentionally. I just didn't want to make anyone upset by the message either, if I didn't think they would be in the game before closing time -- the message would have been pointless so we thought by that point. I'm so sorry. I feel really really bad for everyone that didn't get golden ears.

Boo VFK, this is making me sad and reminds me of the terrible VMK Quest.

Agreed on pretty much everything here. Astro, it did become very much like that terrible "Blackheart Quest" at times. Not knowing what was coming next, lag so bad it was hard to even complete the tasks. We spent some time today stepping back and putting it all in perspective.

I will update everyone on Princess as well. She was very dehydrated, exhausted, and her stress level had her in a lot of pain. There were things besides VFK going on here. Her mom had 2 trips to the ER over Easter weekend, holiday things, the kids baptism and a visit from my parents soon. The VFK weekend was just the thing that pushed her too far. We did get the gold earsand we do have extra. Princess was more worried about getting extras for friends here, while she should have been sleeping. Silly bird.

Her orders are rest and fluid today and she will be around tomorrow. Hugs everyone - takes a big breathe and lets one loose...

Princess has a heart of gold. She just can't help herself when she can get extras to help friends, but really she should rest.

Fortunately (?) I had busy plans over the Easter holidays so I didn't feel any of the stress you all did. I managed to get a bunny chair thanks to a friend logging in as my character and pink ears from a kind trade with funfly so I was happy

and no stress involved

AND... because of this forum, I saw the post about gold ears and ran around like a maniac collecting eggs (I was only collecting the pink ones before I saw the post, LOL, had no idea about the 4 golden eggs/ears). I did get the ears thankfully, but was shut out when I was running a mule around to get the ears for a friend who I knew was away from the computer that day Only managed to get up to 2 gold eggs before they pulled it.

Oh well. For me, I was pleased that I managed to get what I wanted with very little time on VFK/stress. But would have loved to have been around to help others though even if it was more stressful...

I'm still shaking my head though at how I was supposed to know to collect four golden eggs, run to Arthur's Round Table, pick up the 5th golden egg there, place it in my room, and then know to unwrap it!!! Sigh... Gosh, I'm not THAT intelligent!
