I have to share my experience with this event today.

 I was in the second room off of Stonehenge standing all by myself when HOST_Pepper came in.  I didn't know what her phrase was so I drastically started guessing.  I copied her signature and then said it. Her signature at that point had nothing to do with the hunt and I figured it wasn't right.  It wasn't right.  She laughed and said to try again. I then asked for a hint since her signature didn't work. She said "try my siggy".

 Just then another player came in and said the right phrase and won.  I then looked at HOST_Pepper's signature again and this time it had changed to the right phrase. She then disappeared.

I was happy for the winner and was feeling pretty stupid that I had just blown my chance to win.  Just then HOST_Pepper came back in and gave me a second chance! How awesome is that? 

I was astounded and thanked her very much. What a nice, nice thing to do. I had never ever won a host hunt before. And then much to my surprise I found out that the player who had won the prize just before me was a KnoBS board member. Her title was Guest###(I forget the number). I would really like to know who you are here on the boards. If you see this Guest### could you pm me or post here? THanks so much.

 What a cool experience. We both agreed that it was super nice of Pepper to come back and let me try again. Thank you very much HOST_Pepper

Mystery solved!  It was my low numer day one Guest.  I am also very happy that Miss Pepper came back in for you.   Cheers to her (Guinness for St. Patty's Day!)  When hunts are going on if I happen to be in a room where I see a person that I know is a member here then I keep moving along.  I didn't see you before I said the magic words that time though as I was just flying around room to room.  I also had no idea that you were trying to guess the right phrase!  We haven't officially met yet but I knew that you were a member here and wanted to say hi.  Let me know if you have any questions!

I thought that this hunt was a lot of fun.  It was easier to find hosts since there were several, and you could stay in the same room even if one host already entered so less running around.  I liked that they had different phrases (and didn't change them or make you guess things...).  I felt that this greatly cut down on spamming.  I noticed that some players were able to write all four phrases SO quickly and am  hmm about that.  The prize is really cute, and it was an overall great team effort event.

Yay!!  I thought that was such a neat thing when you told me you were a member here. I just had to know who you were. It was a pleasure to meet ya DreamTulip.
I really didn't mind you winning. I knew it was my stupid fault for not knowing the right phrase. It was hilarious the things I was guessing to get it right. I had Pepper laughing pretty good. Its weird that her signature hadn't changed for me until she reentered the room. It was still her old signature.  But any way, it turned out to be a great day and I met a new friend in the process.

Thank you Princess! Like all games, the hosts have their personalities and all of them on VFK do seem to be pretty nice. I am sure some people can be quite demanding and you would have to have extreme patience to do that job.

Yeah.  People were obviously utilizing 'auto-sayer' programs.  I saw what you described, and also went hmm...  There is no physical way to say all 4 lines that fast without the assistance of an external program.  Word about this type of program has been spreading, unfortunately...and it seems a fair amount of people are using it to win.  Which is disappointing.  It would be nice if we were all playing on the same level.  I've also heard of people winning up to 25 times tonight.  By themselves.

OK, so how creepy is this:

The night before this Host Blitz, I was redecorating my log in room with St Patty's day theme.  I went to my host items display room to get a Pot of Gold, and while I was in there I looked at the lava lamps that we've gotten in the past as host prizes; I said to the kids "you know what we need, we need a GREEN lava lamp with clovers floating up and down in it"...

So imagine my reaction  when I learned what the prize was for this HOST Blitz!!  I nearly fell out of my chair when I read it!  

Totally true story there!  Thank you VFK for giving us this incredible green clover lava!! I have been hoping for one of these ever since the first St Patty's Day!!!

P.S.:  and Wendy I am so glad you get to keep your first born!  But I know the feeling of when something comes out that is just so cool you feel like "omg, I MUST have this!!!"  We usually do incredibly bad at the HOST Blitzs, and we went into this not expecting much...but the luck of the Irish was with us last night and as Flame said, we did all right.  Phew.  For now both kids are safe.

Typically, these programs are used when having to repeatedly input the same line of text or characters over and over again (like a ton of times).  Sometimes in spreadsheets, sometimes in regular documents.  It assigns a line of text to a key on the keypad (or other device), and the person just keeps hitting the key and 'enter' (although it's possible to also combine the line of text and the 'enter' function on one key).  As you can see, it saves aLOT of manual copy/paste entries...especially for people who have problems typing or using a keyboard. 

Sadly, as you an see, this type of program is EASILY adaptable to being used during the types of host hunt events that VFK uses. 

Worse, I know that an 'adult' (I won't say who it is...other than I posted pics recently of him here) directing someone else on game to get this program on the 'net.  He even gave the other player the NAME of the program.  He did go on to say that it won't work during host hunts because VFK can detect it (uh huh)...yet I saw him firing off rapid fire lines during the next hunt and 'ROFL'.  Once again...a shining example for todays youth.  Disgusting.
