Just an FYI ...  Unless VFK changes something.

There are NO Participation pins for running a lap like there was for the last race.  Last race we got a participation pin for each day of the race.  This doesn't seem to be the case this time around.  

Also, the Top 10 pin have been made not tradeable.  Not sure if this is just for race time, or forever.

The Flames...after a week of heated and intense talks, food fights, back-room deals and other sordid activities (ok, seriously...we talked about it peacefully as a family and with our friends. lol)...will be racing.  Three words to those nefarious and unethical racers we will be competing against:  Bring It On.   

The Flames will only be racing our 3 mains (no clones...same as last time), and will only be racing in one category.  Let's see how even the playing field ends up when the scores are tallied.

To those who race honestly and do their OWN best during the races:  the Flames wish you the best of luck

No, VFK never said a word about it.  I heard rumors, and tried to trade mine (I only have 3), to a clone to test.  The pins do not show up to trade.  Just like VIP pins.

Again, I don't know if this is just during the race event, or forever.  We'll see.

Awesome.  Thanks Astro!  I just read that someone else on another board tested it, too and couldn't trade them.  This is VERY good news, indeed!

Unfortunately, the Stock races will be absolutely flooded with clones.  I've already heard of people...who have a vast amount of clones...who are going to do just that.  Shame.  Glad we won't be racing in the Stock races.

The pins being not tradeable means that the amount of people racing in the 'mod' category will be VASTLY reduced!  And I'm talking by tons.  It will be limited to the people who actually have at least one pin.  There is supposed to be a total of 20 sets of 'top 10' pins distributed (200 pins).  Knowing that probably half of those sets are spoken for by 10 people, that leaves about 100 pins floating around that others may race with.  I'm also aware of some people who have those pins who won't be racing.  So...there won't be tons of people racing in the 'mod' category...but the ones that WILL be racing in it will be burning rubber

Ok, maybe I am missing something here, but it never gave me the option to pick which race I wanted to be in and also I raced after closing, cause it says you have a certain time untill the track changes, so does my score still count for the daily race?  I am confused on this subject.  How do we even pick the race we want to be in?  Thanks for the help!

Hey Crazy.  One of your questions is easy, the other difficult.

To enter a category, all you have to do is just race.  If you have a 'top 10' pin on when you race, you're automatically racing in the 'mod' race category.  If you aren't wearing one of those pins, you are automatically entered in the 'stock' race category.  There is some question as to whether you can take your pins off after racing the 'mod' category to then race in the 'stock' category as well.  We're not doing that, but we know some people who tried it.  No way to tell though, since times from yesterday were never posted.    There is also nothing notifying you which category you are racing in when you try to race.  So...yeah.  I'll add another 

Your other question is difficult.  VFK hasn't said how late you can race.  Last time they had races, you could race until around the time when the game opens in the morning (although there is a transition period when they are changing the tracks and times won't count).  So we're assuming it's the same as last time...but there's been no official word that it's the same.  Then again, things have changed before with no notice.  I'll throw in one more    LOL.

Well, yesterday (including last night and the wee hours of this morning) there were some pretty serious problems with the racing.

Speaking strictly for the 'mod racers', around 75% of laps were not being counted.  You would finish the lap and receive: no time at all.  It didn't make a difference whether you hit the grass, didn't hit the grass, or drove all over the grass.  There was no rhyme or reason as to why alot of laps weren't counting.  Alot of people were sending in help reports.  They took the track down once for a while around when the host hunt was going on.  It eventually came back up...and the problems were still there.  We heard from several other people who had received responses from their help reports.  Some were told to refresh, clear cache, blah blah.  Others were told that VFK wasn't able to reproduce the problem   You can imagine the frustration at completing an awesome lap...not hitting ANY grass at all...and having no time come up at the end of your race. 

To make matters worse, people were asking VFK to post the times on the homepage like last time.  They never were posted.  Someone asked staff last night, and they said the times would be posted 'later tonight'.  They STILL haven't been posted. 

So you had a bunch of people IM'ing each other, trying to make sense of it all and asking if they'd heard anything.  LOL.  Chaos and mayhem...to say the least.  Looks like today will be no different.  I personally haven't tried the new track, but infiinity has already told me she tried the new course today and some laps weren't counting.  -.-

Thanks for the help Flame!  I did have some problems when racing as well, but at least I was able to try it after hours so I had less lag.

Since you bring it up, and I can never shut my mouth  ... Yep.  I am completely disgusted.  Obviously zero morals.  But you know what?  Same thing happens in the Puzzles too.  And maybe a few other things, I can't think of at the moment.  You can only blame the players for so long.  VFK created this monster (of clones and their abuse), and until they do something about it, it's here to stay sadly.  Okay so they made the Top 10 pins not tradeable.  Big deal.  It obviously didn't have a HUGE impact on what was going to happen.

Wooohooo ~ I placed one away from the bottom of the list on Saturday.  Now I wonder where I WOULD HAVE placed had people NOT jammed the Race with clones.      I didn't kill myself over trying, I know that.  I only raced a handful of times, and I personally only raced Modified - I didn't bother with Stock.  I could have probably improved my time, but in the back of my head I knew what I was up against with the clones, and decided I would rather do some fun stuff in real life instead (I'm very thankful I did).  Yep, I'm mad, it's frustrating ~ oh well, I'll get over it.  But, I don't think I'll bother for the next Race, that's for sure.  Which I'm sure many players feel the same way.  - shrugs -

That pretty much sums it up, yup.  Congrats, btw   You did make the list!  Well done!

This is VFK's monster, yes.  Unfortunately, I know there is nothing they can do to stop it, now.  It's up to the individual to decide whether what they're doing is moral/etchical or not.  Obviously, we can easily see those people who tend to 'stick out' in the 'not moral/ethical' group.  This type of thing brings out the best and worst in people. 

Seriously, we could have spread our pins out across our clones and loaded the list...probably from 1-20...each day.  However, we knew that running clones, in our opinion, was wrong...since it would deprive others of a chance to place.  At the same time, we have 4 paying memberships.  Flame, .It and Hero are all main accounts...not clones.  Each is manned be a different person on a regular basis.  Really, we could have had one of us run our 4th membership (Mermaid...not Fish.i) and taken another place.  We thought that would not be fair since she rarely is on game and that account is seldom used.  Obviously, she is too young to race for herself, so one of us would have had to race for her.

It's just a shame that people like to hoard things for themselves.  They fail to also understand that by hoarding things, they deprive others of those same things.  That shows an extremely selfish nature.  Not something I like to see, frankly.  But it is a sad fact of life that people are just that way.

We do our best.  If we come in first, great!  And we do so without any guilt whatsoever.  If we are beaten, then we will survive and accept our loss with grace (as long as it's not rubbed in our face, that is .  We will not lose friendships over this.  We have close friends competing against us.  We've talked with them about the possibility of either of us winning.  We both agree that neither a win or a loss by any of us will affect our friendships.  That is how friendships should be.  Not dependent on 'things' or 'competitions'.  Friends are friends.  And I'm now being redundant.  ROFL.  I'll stop
