My Space Hoax

This is for all. My VMK friend got very excited about a message she got from Host Hula that appears to be a hoax and wanted to warn all of you. This was the third message she received complete with pictures of Hula on myspace.

it is a scam!

Well "hula", I don't see where my password is needed. I have written VMK to get verification of this program because it seems a contridiction of VMK values as you can't even say "my" and "space" together in a sentence in VMK without getting an alert! Nice try though, "hula"!

OK, I had to go and look...
Very sad.. I hope it doesn't trick any kids into giving their information!
Oddly enough it appears that Host Hula is 17 years old
And I noticed that "HostPhinney" has left a comment. (Do they know they spelt it wrong??)
--sadly they look like they were made by the same person. (using coolchaser.com)

 I just signed up to be friends with both Fin and Hula, this is going to be good.  The Gas man as community leader for a day, hold on tight peeps it's going to be a bumpy ride.  :jester2:

On a serious note, I know it shouldn't, but it boggles my mind, the ideas that scammers can dream up to try to fleece you.   :(

I always wanted to make a mule, and give that info to those scammers... and leave a message from another mule saying " Congratulations, you just got scammed yourself, and now you are the Lose.her of the Kingdom!" :)...

 Host Phinney Accepted me but Host Hula has'nt, she must not glove me anymore. I did post a comment to Host Phinney.

Oh, this is shameful. Some moron trying to steal login information. Has anyone reported this to Contact Us? Useless as the Black Hole is, maybe they can file a complaint with MySpace since someone is pretending to be people they are clearly not.

ETA: To those of you who got the message from either, go to the main page of these people and click "Report Abuse" at the bottom of the page. You can choose "Scam" or "Imposter profile." There's a box for you to explain what happened; I would tell them they are asking for log in info and birthdates for a Disney site (VMK) and are pretending to be the well-known game employees to get the info. Maybe point them in the direction of VMK's calendar so they can see the titles are the same (although faker #2 spelled Phinny wrong) and better understand the point. I hate to see anyone fall for this, so it's especially important for anyone who got the message(s) to report the profile it came from.

Oh yes, I reported it the day I saw the page.  I of course got a standard 'don't give out your ID and password' form letter reply back.  I hope they at least read my message and went and looked at the pages.  I even said that they were using vmk/disney images.

On the upside, I just checked and "Host Hula's" MySpace page has gone bye-bye. Now if they will just get rid of the "Phinney" one, we'll be in business. I cannot stand people who pull stunts like this, I really can't.
