VFK Early Western Movie Quest!

Annie Oakley, Bucking Broncho, Buffalo Bill, Buffalo Dance and Sioux Ghost Dance are some of the earliest films ever made and you can tell by their names, they were all Westerns! These early versions of the western movie genre portrayed life in the old West and included sharpshooting, cowboys and horses! These early Westerns were short silent films intended for a movie "arcade." Westerns are even today a popular movie genre and many memorable stars have gotten their start on a Western set! So stomp on your boots and put on your Western hat because today we look at the history of Western movies!
