I haven't played in a long time bears. I just don't want to pay anything to disney right now and I have heard that the basic version isn't worth my time. What is your opinion on the basic version?

The basic version is worth it just to get a feel for the game and see if you would want to pay to play.  It's very limited though as far as weapons, skills, reputation levels, quests, etc. so you really can't get very far into the game and it would become very boring rather quickly.

I rarely play anymore, and I am a paying player. Everytime I come on hardly any of the players I know are on, as I work during the hours and on days they all play. It is a very boring game when you are all alone, but very fun indeed when among friends..........................Fee

I still play but not sure if I want to keep paying for something if I don't play all the time. I wonder if I can still play on my characters of I cancel my payments?

I play every day and I do like it there.  I did the basic for about 6 days,  It took me 5 days to finally get that ahh ha moment and get incurrably hooked.  Its all about your own quest and you can work with others to get farther faster but its all about you finding, accomplishing and winning what you need.   Fortunaly when you work together it counts for both of you.   Basic is only about trying it out.  They have way to many limits imposed on it to really go anywhere but with out the trial period I never would have played.  Like I said it took me 5 days to finally get it.  My pirate has been playing about a month and a half now and Im level 24 almost 25.  I just recently got grenades weapon and as much as I hate them Im trying to level them up now.

I wish they would extend the basic a little more and let people enjoy it to a little higher level.  Im not sure what the max is but your limited by quests not unlocking for certain weapons.   The weapon quests are the funnest part to me.

I read somewhere the answer is yes.  But they will lock all your upper level ships, clothes, weapons and quests.  You can basically go through fighting enemies but with out you upper level stuff.

well I just sent them a message asking them what would happen to my Founders title if I had to stop my subscription. I also asked what would happen to it if I were able to pay for it again at some point.
now I'm just waiting for a reply back.

I still play a bit everyday. Right now there is a lot of new things going on in the test servers with new islands and new Flag ships, it's been fun.

If anyone wants to hook up on either the test server or the live server give me a shout out.

I used to be on everyday, but since I had to go to basic after paying for it since it started basic seems extremely boring to me.

Me Me Me!!

I play Pirates every day - totally addicted to this game.

If any of you are still playing, give either me or KrazyPete a shout.  We're looking for a couple more adult DIS members to join our Roo Rocking pirate guild.  It's a small guild - only about a dozen members - we designed it that way to foster intimacy and tight bonds... but a couple members have gone AWOL on us.  You can get a closer look at what goes on in my POTCO thread over on the DIS Disney Online game board.

Would LOVE to meet up if anyone is still playing!

And YAY! My first post on NoBS!   :dance3:

Nice to see you over here Pink. Fin noticed you in the game today. You were gone so fast not sure you saw a hello from her. But she was so glad you see you

Welcome Pink.  Hope the boys are good.  I haven't seen DJ or Be since VMK closed :( , but I know DJ and my son still communicate from time to time.

I agree with Belle.  Everyone here is age-wise 15 or older, but behavior-wise..  :notme:

Someone once dubbed us loonies, and seems everyone here is comfortable with that. :lolg:

Could you please post the link to your thread from DIS for everyone?  Thank you!

Thanks for the welcomes!   :waveh:

Since, I don't know how to multi-quote on this forum (gosh, I hate trying to learn a new forum!), I will just have respond individually...

Belle - Adult in age only, never behavior. You'd think we were all 3 year olds with the way we tease and name call, but it's fun ;)  I do have to say, even though it's an adult guild, we do have 2 child members (sshhh, that fact will start a WAR on the dis with all these kiddos wanting to join with us), but they are children of our guild members, so we made that exception.

Purpleduck - so glad the boys keep in touch.  Mine have moved onto some Star Wars Jedi computer game.... sigh.  Always Star Wars....   :ls:

Uh... post a link?  Hmmm....  Let me see if this technology-challenge gal can do such a thing ;)

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1785894 (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1785894)

Did that work?

Oh... hmm... just read my opening post.  LOL!  Ignore my dilemna of trying to change my clothes.  Man, that's embarrassing to re-read.  I DO get the hang of pirates eventually in that thread, and ,thus, the thread DOES turn from clothes to the actual game which then leads to our awesome guild forming.  Sigh.

So what's new with this game?  I see a ton of commercials for it, I wonder how they're doing membership-wise?
