SmallWorlds - Disney Connection
« on: April 11, 2011, 08:20 PM »

Interesting articleon the Auckland IT scene about SmallWorlds. It mentions there is some type of SmallWorlds and Disney connection, but does not get in to details.

Wow, very interesting!  Thanks for sharing Happy!  So Disney is an investor ... but we just don't know to what degree... I would love to know!   :2thunbs:

Holy Cow about the Snow Fox!  Thank goodness I (and others), had the gold back then to get it.  I'm not letting it go anytime soon either!  What would be interesting, is to see how many active players are still left with Snow Foxes ... I'm sure there are plenty of Snow Foxes, that went to rest in "virtual inactivity land" too.

That is a fascinating article, Happy. Thanks!  I imagine that if Disney is investing in it....it's not 'chump change'.  Just look at the new office they moved to recently.  Wow.i....  :hmmmm:

Part of me wonders if it is part of some subtle cross marketing of movies.

In December they released the Tachyon Suit.  Players actually call it the "tron suit"

The March collectible Django was at about the same times as the Rango movie release (I don't think this movie is Disney-Pixar.)  I do know that Zynga's Frontierville had a Rango in game "lizard/chameleon mission",

Any other ideas?

I did notice the TRON suit!  Made me go 'hmmmm'...

Didn't notice the Django/Rango connection. Wow...

This could be something big if Disney really opens the monetary floodgates with SW.  SW is obviously profitable.  That will not go unnoticed by Disney, you can count on that!

In my dreams I wish they could use the SW Crew to create virtual WDW.
Could you imagine it with all the SW technologies?

That would be awesome...until they fired them all in a couple/few years and closed the place...calling it a 'promotion'.   :laugh2:

It COULD be amazing, though.  And then some...
