Well, we expected our newly-acquired exposure to produce some jealousy and accusations. Unfortunately, we weren't disappointed.
We've seen enough horrible behavior from VFK players lately...and now this.
We've been accused of using clones and of cheating to win. By more than one person.
For the record...and to make sure everyone is absolutely clear on this subject...the Flames did NOT cheat in the races...nor during any of our time on game. Ever. I wouldn't know how to cheat if I wanted to. The fact that our times were so close really should come as no surprise to anyone. All a person has to do is look at each day of the race week and peruse the 'top 30' lists for each day. They are all finalized and updated now. Intelligent people will see that there were a couple days where those times...from winner #1 to #29 or #30...were within fractions of a second of each other. So for anyone to question the closeness of our times doesn't know their a...well, they know nothing at all. For example:
Thursday place winners and times:
#1- 00:37.286
#29-00:37.99
Opening Practice Day (first Saturday) place winners and times:
#1- 00:27.063
#30-00.27.969
WOAH! Look at that. Saturday, 30 people scored the same 27 seconds...only separated by fractions of it!
So...I guess all those people in between on those days all lived in my house and cheated with me? Seriously...
I am only posting this to dispel lies and rumors that are being started. To people that are doing that, I say: you need serious help...and I fart in your general direction.
We ran
no clones to win the races. It was Flame, Hero and .It. I used to program computers way back before DOS. I've played countless keyboard-controlled games (not even joysticks allowed). Hero was raised on them when he got old enough. We enjoyed racing against each other, and would share strategies to shave times between each other. We have 4 paying memberships. If we wanted we could have also ran Mermaid (our daughter) for the races and most probably would have swept #1 on Sunday altogether. We did not do that because she rarely plays, and we wanted to give others a chance. If we wanted to be really awful, we would have run clones like someone did from Wednesday through Friday. On Wednesday, I count 11 (probably more) clones of 1 person on the 'top 30'. Thursday I count 5 by that person. Friday, 9. I'm rounding down, btw. That, to me, is ethically wrong...although not against the rules. We could have loaded every days 'top 30' list with our clones. However, the only reason to do that would be to keep others
off the list. We did NOT do that...and are saddened that the person decided to use their clones to do such a thing to other players.
REAL people that know the Flames know our reputation. I would hope...by now...it would speak for itself. I would like to ask the cooperation of NOBS members in letting us know if someone accuses us of ill-gotten gain. Specifically of spreading untruths about us. Thanks everyone for your help.
Flame. Just setting the record straight...and eliminating the BS.
