VFK Memorial Day Mini-Quest 2013!

Today is the day we remember our fallen heroes, it is Memorial Day! On Memorial Day we traditionally have honorary parades, visit war Memorials, and display the American flag in honor of their service, dedication and ultimate sacrifice for our protection and freedom. This National holiday originated on May 5th, 1868 when it was first named Decoration Day. The holiday was not changed to its current celebration day of the last Monday in May until 1971. On today's quest, let's explore the tradition and celebration of Memorial Day!
