End of Summer Ball!
Summer equinox is September 23rd this year. The nights are now officially longer than the days, which means that romantic nights will be even longer! To celebrate the end of summer and the beginning of the fall and winter seasons, come be part of the End of Summer Ball!
Our End of Summer Ball will be held Saturday, September 25th, 2010 from 8:00 P.M. Eastern Time (5:00 P.M. Pacific Time) to 10:00 P.M. Eastern Time (7:00 P.M. Pacific Time)
Especially for our UK players, our End of Summer Ball will also be held Sunday, September 26th, 2010, commencing at 12:00 P.M. Pacific Time, 3:00 P.M. Eastern Time, 8:00 P.M. UK Time, and will last until 2:00 P.M. Pacific Time, 5:00 P.M. Eastern Time, 10:00 P.M. UK Time.
As part of the End of Summer Balls, there will also be surprise party favors at each ball!

OK, maybe this is just the planetarium teacher in me, but isn't this the Autumnal Equinox? There are Summer and Winter Solstices and Autumnal and Spring Equinoxes. I guess not a big deal, and anyone else correct me if I'm wrong. (Which wouldn't be the first time :lolg: )
Also, this year's Fall Equinox was a special one. For any fellow geeks like myself, I copied some text from an article about this year's special Equinox. Happy Fall!!!
Autumn arrived in the world Wednesday night, September 22, 2010, at 11:13pm EST. And for the first time since 1991, the harvest moon was full in the early hours of September 23, 5:17 a.m. EST. A full harvest moon so close to the autumnal equinox is the “traditional definition” of a harvest moon.

Yes Wendy, you have your Equinoxes and Solstices right. Autumnal Equinox (or Fall Equinox) marks the last day of Summer. And this is what the Ball is about, the end of Summer. They did make a mistake. :uhuh2:
...and yes, for the world this year's Autumnal Equinox was the 22nd of September.....apparently at VFK its the 23rd... Must be the Lag. :roflmao:

Aww. It was nice to see friends there! Alot of ppl were crashing.
I've been using Google Chrome off and on (I don't like a few things about it), and it's been pretty bulletproof for me. I have yet to crash while using it ;)

:yes!: I got to get on VMK and attend the ball! It has been so long, I actually had to look up my password :lolp:
I got to see the Flames and Fun, and clean up a few purple feathers along the way. Even got to see a player with a very cute and appropriate title: Major_Lag! Sadly the party ended early for me with a DC, but it was so nice to get back on, I didn't care.

It was awesome seeing you again after so long, Duck.i :) It's a bummer....I was gonna change into the new purple suit, but I hadn't traded it up from my clone yet :( Ah well. Next time ;)
I think we've missed about 3 balls now, too. So many balls, so little time? That sounds so wrong... :shy:

I would like to see this: End of DC Ball!
I was able to make it to the Ball, but crashed many times. I would have liked to be able to talk, drink my juice and not crash. I really was looking forward to a night with friends.
