I was just coming here to post. It started at 6:45 and runs until 7:45, per the event calendar. Last minute addition?
We are sitting in the atrium at church racing lawn mowers. Too funny! King won his race, prize was a Spring Flower Chair. His inventory is full, so I can't post a picture. :lolg:

Same host prize as before! And since when does a person do a lawn mower race on ice? I logged on a person without skates. Found out later that skates were required, then crashed. .It and Hero both got in. One person who raced against .It raced against Hero moments later! Hmm.....something smells corrupt...this stinks. :td:

Well bummer ... logged on of course just as it ended. Didn't get in. But, very happy to hear it's repeat prize anyway (that I luckily have already). This way more players have a chance to get it too, if they didn't get it before. :thumb:

I'm totally not happy with the queue system. I've seen the same person get in 2 races in a row. I've seen multiple clones of the same person getting in to several different races. We got in a few times tonight. Everytime we get in, we see the 'big name players' or their clones. I have to assume that something...is amiss? Maybe people figured out another way to game the system...like the method that an admin on another website posted, which detailed how they cheat for the host hunts by using a scripting program. :hmm:
VFK needs to tighten up and pay more attention to their queue system and its selection method. It certainly doesn't seem to be completely 'random'.
Enough of the ice rink competitions too, already! Racing from line to line while the screen decides to scroll to the left is like chasing yourself across the screen. At least make it a race without the scrolling.

Honestly, I think I would rather fail at a host hunt, then to fail at these races personally. :ls:
Sounds like it was the same as the "roll an egg event", and the "push the sled event"?? There was probably some other kind of race that I'm forgetting? Besides the actual race around the track thing that I wasn't a fan of either. I don't like these race events AT ALL. Grid is still not right, the scrolling is enough to drive anyone insane. :ahh:

They have improved the queue system. It needs more work to be truly 'random' (personal opinion based on what I've seen).
Failing at these races is very easy. This race was the same as the other races you mentioned. So it was easy to go around the lawn mowers frequently. Add to that the screen scroll right in the middle of the race...you get the idea. Blech.

I completely missed this event; so I didn't get a chance to lose these races either. But, I do hate those scrolling race things where I get lag anyways -- guess I'll get some ice for my water now :)

Flame I have been saying this since they started using the queue. I could signed up for the line when it first opens and I would never, ever get in the room, but I know of people that just sign up and bam right in they go.
The random option is nice (if it really is random), but I wish they would open more rooms so others can enjoy it too.

I looked all day for the info about when the races would be going on and saw nothing listed in the events calendar so I went out to dinner thinking maybe they changed their minds and it was only going to be on Sunday. I come back now to find out that not only did they have it while I was away, BUT they also later put it in the event calendar. Why couldn't they put it in earlier so people would know. :doh: :madder:
Flame I read it before coming to the boards and I too thought they were doing the lawn mower races on the ice and we needed our skates?!?!?!?! Maybe its a football/baseball field that changes into an ice rink when we are not looking?

I agree that this system does NOT appear random, Krazy. Again, going solely based on what I've seen and heard (which is enough for me). Opening more rooms? Doubt that will happen. Vintages room had Age, but Cactus's room had Cactus and Enigma. Not sure what other hosts they would/could bring onboard to open more rooms. Koala? Mintie? Dunno.
Yes, once again the Event Calendar seems to show what is happening CURRENTLY too often. I wish it would show us WHEN something is GOING to happen. Yup...that would be nifty... :hmm:

Well, King is the gassy one, but I really stunk it up on the ice tonight! I was winning and doing pretty well, but right at the end of the race, the chat bubbles from Age's instructions covered my character and mower. So, I pretty much walked past my mower before the chat cleared. :lolg: I was the first across the line, without my mower! :rofl1:
I am still a fan of teleporter or ride rooms over races, but we already had this chair for Princess Red and myself, so I was just trying to practice at the races. This is just my opinion, but I do think the queue system is random. We had one instance tonight when our son got into 2 races in a row. After his race ended, he entered the queue and was placed in line. It moved down quickly, apparently a few players dc'd or did not have skates. I do wonder if clicking enter over and over instead of having the computer check for you increases your odds. We did not do this tonight, just used the automated system and all made it in once. Our son made it in twice.
King was the only one able to win the race, but we did peak the interest of a few people in the atrium while we raced. VFK may get a few new players after some friends took a look at the game. :lolg:
Wishing everyone good luck for the races tomorrow! I still wish they could bring those lawn mowers to our house. :laugh2: :sur:

Congrats on your family getting in, Wendy! These races are uber-challenging. Forgot about those chat bubbles. Those can get you if the screen scroll doesn't.
Maybe the queue is random. I truly hope it is. I just keep hearing from alot of people who never get in. I can't figure out why that would happen when they play every time. Sigh. Hopefully VFK is keeping an eye on the queue and its behavior.
Bring in the new players. VFK needs more church-going people in the game...no doubt about that!! LOL. Just make sure they avoid the garden. :laugh2:
Btw: I'm sure VFK will be more than happy to bring those mowers over to your place. But you'll have to wait until things ice up! :rofl1: :roflmao:
