If there is a host room just started...why am I getting message from q search that the game ended?
The q is messed up
-
Hi
I also got that message ,but after refresh it went
What i do not understand is how ppl that have logged on after you get into the room before you
Two of my friends and a clone got into the room after logging on well after me and i am still waiting and waiting
When is a queue not a queue ? On vfk it seems
Bitter old lady fed up with never getting into rooms ot finding hosts
Krazy and i will have to come up with a plan
hugs

First, thanks to Flame for posting this here so quickly once the event began! :bighug: :thumb: If they are not going to update the calendar for the week or even in the morning, it seems we need to rely on each other for this information. King checked here after having an inkling there might be something tonight and because of your post, Flame, we were able to actually hop on and get into the room! :heat:
Second, I want to apologize for ranting about the lack of calendar updates after Saturday's event. It is not like me to get so upset over the little things. I was actually trying to deal with all of this stuff with my knee/leg without taking the pain meds I was given. I know, I know... So, I am now taking something for the pain and it has really helped. I am actually finding my knee improving some, so hopefully it is healing on its own. Again, I do not want and did not intend to steal anyone's joy who was able to get in and win. I, personally, love teleporter events. I love the whole process - choosing a porter, riding through, etc. I am very glad to see they are trying to have many of these. Personally, if they did almost all porter events with a sprinkling of Host Hunts for all of the same prize, I'd be thrilled!
Third, I wanted to share something that worked for us in regards to the queue. Lisu, I understand your frustration. It seems like they are only filling the queue up a small amount at a time. Because entering the queue is random, others can get in before you just by chance. Our son got in really quickly tonight by not allowing the queue to just automatically check his position for him. He would click "Cancel" on the "Queue Full" message and then hit "Enter Room" over and over, probably once every second. By doing this, he was checking the queue 20 times for each time our queues were checking automatically. He got in within 5 minutes doing this.
King and I tried it next and both of us were able to get in after only about 5-10 minutes of clicking. Not sure if this makes sense. I can clarify if needed, but this is just a tip that seemed to work consistently for us tonight. There is still chance involved, but it seemed to up the probability of getting into the room. Maybe this will help some of us at future queue events!

Thanks for the tip, Wendy! I shall try it next time :)
No worries on the rant. Everyone has to 'let loose' at one point or another. LOL. We need to get it out of our systems! And you were right. Things should be on the events calendar so we know when events happen. Otherwise, why have a calendar at all? I'm getting ready to post a giant size rant myself in a few ;)
Random is a bummer with the queue, yet it also helps those that can't get on at the beginning. With the old system, if you didn't get on right at the beginning, you didn't stand much of a chance of getting in at all. With this system, it kind of levels the playing field. Really, though, they need aLOT more rooms, and they need to make the decision-making process for the player happen BEFORE the player gets in the room and farts around (no offense to King there LOL). We'll see how this all shakes out. Right now, the current queue seems to be getting a majority of negative reviews.

Thanks for the update Flame!
blah I missed it though...it's okay, got a bunny first time around ;)
seriously do not like the queue system though..sounds like everyone has the same issues, so we're all in misery together.

Maybe I ought to have King gas the heck out of the queue system. :lolg: He could blow the doors of the Host room for us all! (http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee162/ahdahl/smileyvault-atomic.gif)

I think the single biggest thing they can do to ease out everyone's frustration over this is to RUN MORE ROOMS!!! Honestly, how hard can it be to park a staff or two or three??? I truly think that so much of this could be taken care of this way. By now most people KNOW what to do once they get in a room: move fast! Or get booted. I have noticed both Dragon and Age in the room during the past couple of events; so why not park Age in one room, Dragon in another? Even THAT would take some of the burden off of the queue system and well.....let twice as many people through maybe??

About the queue system...I did get queue number by leaving the checking for queue box open. In my case, It checked automatically and did work. :thumb:

Mine was the exact same way, and it worked for me as well.

The last event we used with this queue system was one of the skating events, I think. At that event we just let the queue system do the work for us and I think 2 of our family got into the event. So, it worked for us the way it was supposed to. :thumb:
I like being able to leave the queue to check for me so I can do other things on the computer while an event is running. During this last event, our son tried clicking over and over which seemed to work and all 4 of us got in, although one of us - cough King cough- picked the wrong porter! :lolg: We have only tried this once, so it may not work consistently, but it may be worth a try for those who have had no luck!
