Title: 3/13 Scavenger Hunt ~ Country Valley Panel 1
Post by: Astro on March 13, 2010, 07:38 AM

ETA:  Scavenger Hunt is NOW ACTIVE.  STARTS outside Marshall's Office with Chili Ristra.

Just an FYI...New Scavenger Hunt for the new Mural Panels is NOT active yet.  Maybe later today.  Per current Event Calendar post from VFK, it is supposed to start outside the Marshall's office, but nothing has been put out yet to click on.

Thanks Astro!  So the murals are back...  :uhuh2:

I'm sure they will look pretty, but the pace just isn't worth it.  I would have liked something more original (i.e., different).  Personal opinion.

:bighug: Thank you for the update ladies! I love the colors on this mural - well from what I can see from the picture above. Excited to see what this ends up looking like. Maybe it just looks so bright after many of us had such a white winter.  :hmmmm: Either way, nice. :thumb:

I do like the colors of this mural piece but I'm just not a fan of murals at all.  What do the rest of you think of them?

I am not a fan either, although I have seen somebody's room that utilized the hay field mural, and the room was set up as a farm.  Very well done I thought.

I'm not a huge fan of murals either.  Probably because I don't build much at all.  If I was a builder, they would probably come in very handy.  But...I do like the credits!   :2thunbs:

Yes, I do them for the credits, too.  I stopped doing alot of them, though.  They aren't worth anything and take a large amount of space to store.  They are pretty, but hugeish (mural)...so you're limited as to where you can put them once they're all together.  If there were more places to put them and not so hard to assemble them so they look perfect, I'd be a bigger fan.

Fish.i pointed out to me last night that the piece from last night might make a nice picture by itself.  I agree :)

I like the idea of the murals and have ideas of how to use them in a room to create an atmosphere or scene, like duck.he described. Going crazy hunting for them - no way! If you start hunting for many, there is pressure to make sure you don't "miss" a piece. We do hunt for extra, just not huge amounts - mostly to have around for building.

Some of the mural pieces can hang alone as a piece of art. I have experimented with this is the past by hiding a ride piece under a mural piece behind a furniture item. Looks like the mural piece is hanging on the wall. They could even be used alone or in small groups as a scene outside of a false window in a creation or partial backdrop to fill in a space.

lol-maybe I do like murals after all... I wrote enough about them.  :lolg:

Astro, hugzzzzz, ty oh so much for updating us.  It really means a lot to me and this past week has been no exception.  I have been ill (which I still am), are basement sprung a leak and with no electric, due to the storm, we had no internet connection as well.  Thanks to you I was able to see that we had another hunt so I got on as fast as I could to get it done before they took it away.  I agree that storing the panels for the murals is a pain, but the credits are wonderful for someone like me who doesn't have a lot of them.

Thanks again for the updates Astro!  :2thunbs:
