Word Search is now available on the Menu. I believe everyone gets 250 credits for completing it.
Just click on the letters to form a word, and the system will automatically circle it for you.
ETA: A checkmark box has now been added for words you have found. The system will automatically check off words for you, as you find them in the puzzle.

That was fun! I did not finish it as was too tired and eyes started to see double, which meant, Pix go nite nite.

Finished it. It was ok. Too many words. Sent them a few suggestions...like automatically crossing out a word we've found, so we know which ones we've already circled.
Flamanar...250 credits?.. :uhuh2:

After I saw this, I hopped on to give it a try. I also did not finish. I have to go have my new glasses fixed - my left lense is not right, so my eyes were practically crossed as I tried to finish.
I am totally with you Flame, about the words being crossed off or highlighted in a different color as we go. I did not have the patience to go through the list to see what I had missed. :lolg:

I didn't even start the Word Search - I'll have to catch it today maybe.
Just checked it out this morning: they have a checkbox next to each word. When you find the word and circle it the box automatically puts a checkmark in it.

I liked it, I did finish it last night - before the checkmark box was added. But, I agree that we did need that checkmark box for sure yesterday! :blink:
I added a pic to the first post of the new and improved Word Search grid.
ETA: Almost forgot .... We also now have a "Save Progress" button, which we didn't have last night either. Which we needed as well! :sur: I think I exited out of my puzzle once last night, and lost everything I had already done up to that point. :(

Thank you Astro and Fun. The addition of a checklist will help a lot.
I completed the puzzle last night, but I hated having to go word by word in the list, ignoring other words I found along the way, or else I wouldn't know if I had them all. This is wonderful news!

Thanks for the update, Fun! This is good news. I sent a help report last night requesting the words be crossed out or something so we know when we've circled a word. Also asked that we be allowed to save the progress of the puzzle. .It lost hers twice last night as well.

Looks like they might be listening to feedback...which makes Flame a happy camper :) Now to fix the problems with the regular crosswords... :notme:

I completed the mixed words puzzle this morning and got my highest position so far #14.
I happened to see there was a fresh word search puzzle, so I gave that a shot.. OMG I got #1 position! Woot, a lamp! :td: Nope, just 250 credits. The entire time it kept giving me a message to "hurry to be first". WTH is the point with that if #1 - #1000 all just get 250 credits?!
But I am excited to see my title as #1, even if it will be the only time!
(Yes Astro, I just read your first post.. 250 credits... )

I've noticed less and less ppl doing the sudoku and word search puzzles. Either that or they're just taking their time. Only a small group have been trying to place in the top 30 it seems with those puzzles. I've stopped doing the soduko, and only do the word search when I'm bored.
They need to make some serious changes to the word search puzzle in particular (crossword, too...but that's another story). Sent them the changes that are needed a week or so ago. Got a very nice 'thank you' message back from VFK...and nothing. It's so hard to look at, sometimes I have to stop just to give my eyes a rest. Sigh...

Yup, the only puzzles that give out the lamp for 1st place to finish (or a chance to spin the wheel), is the Crossword/WordMix puzzles. No lamps for Sudoku or Word Search. Not even a chance to spin the wheel with those either. :(

King and I were talking about this the other night. We thought it would be fun to have a wheel to spin for the word search and sudoku. Perhaps mix up the wheel a bit, have some credit amounts and maybe some buyable furniture or clothing as prizes. I could even see having a lamp for the word search first place player.
The problem with the sudoku giving away a lamp is that it is very easy to find a sudoku solver online. Just punch in the given numbers and within 2 seconds you have all the numbers to plug into the puzzle. More difficult to do that with the crosswords and word searches.

Good ideas, Wendy. I like the buyable furniture or clothing....or maybe even magic as the 'big prize' for the word search. Don't know if I would put lamps on the word search...since it's much easier than the crosswords.
Sudoku: leave it the way it is, I think...or have a wheel with minor prizes on it. When an adult on another part of the 'net mentioned solvers for crosswords when they were first released, I wondered if there was such a thing for sudoku. Yup. Put the numbers in and solved in a couple seconds (which is why I don't even bother playing it...why try to play honest when you know others are going to cheat and win?). Even though it is a hard and challenging version of Sudoku...and worthy of a big prize...it's too easy to cheat...and people will....which makes it blech. All IMHO, of course.
Before any of that, they need to fix the word search so that it's readable and doesn't make you go blind. LOL. Sheesh...
