Title: 7/19 Pools & Inland Ocean Shop
Post by: Astro on July 19, 2009, 02:05 PM
ETA:  Enter Pool areas and new Inland Ocean Shop, from the Sydney Opera House in Australia Tab.  Set of stairs going down, to the very far Right is an Exit.  Not the Aquarium exit, the next set of steps exit.

Remember, you're only able to view the items for sale in this shop, once YOU ARE IN THE SHOP.

After Exiting from the Stairs to the Right, once at the Opera House.  You arrive here:

Take another Exit at the Top Left side of your screen (kind of hidden under the leaves of the tree, beyond the waterfall.  You see the normal "Way Out" exit signs.).  You arrive here:

Then keep walking straight, it's the only area open at this time.  Again, you'll see the normal "Way Out" exit signs.  You Exit to the pool area:

*** NOTE~ You need to use the changing rooms, to change into swim clothing if you want to swim - little rooms with doors by the pool (the building right where you enter from - just click on the doors ~ you pop in and out automatically).  You do not use your closet.  Use your closet only to change the color of your swim suit outfit that you have bought. **

Then walk to the shop area, upper right corner of screen.  Click on the wooden floor (there are "Way Out" signs now).  This is the shop.  Open your shop button from this room to buy swim suits.:

Right side of screen FROM 1ST POOL AREA, is another Exit (look for "Way Out" signs) for the diving boards.  Click on the color rectangle on the ground, for which corresponding diving board you wish to jump off of (red, blue or green):

Love those rooms and the fact you can actually lounge on those chairs!!  Nice job VFK!  :clap1:

The new rooms are quite laggy.  Hopefully, it gets better.  But, there is a lot of animation going on with regards to splash when you're in the pools and swimming motion.  Might have something to do with it too.

I cleaned up the first post a bit, I was editing as I was personally finding things.   :lolg:

You can sit along the circle wall in the Esplanade that says "Splashtastic".  Also, many things are "sitable":  benches, loungers, etc.

That is the cutest thing ever!!
Love the splash!
I was able to finally log on (computer issues..arg..) and found the pool and was helped to figure out and the buy swim suit..go to changing rooms..
but poor Paws never was much more then a blue blur so didn't get to see her in a snazzy red swim suit..
Do love the 'sitable' areas..great idea.

All I have to say is - WOW!!! These new rooms are simply amazing! So many little details that just make this new pool/waterpark area fun and really beautiful! The entire family was either on or watching the others swim and move from room to room.

LOVE the splash when you enter the pool. LOVE the diving platforms. LOVE the waterfall and sound effects in that room. LOVE the music in the rooms. LOVE that we actually swim as we move around in the pool!

King has also figured out which magics look like bubbles in the pool!   And he has apparently perfected the gas.he cannonball!  :lolg:

I have a question for everyone else. We found that we could only change into our suits while in the little changing rooms. Is this the case for everyone else or just a bug we are experiencing? EDIT: Just saw Astro had posted this in her first post! Thanks Astro for posting all of this new information for all of us!  :bighug:

Another fantastic creation VFK! Wow, just wow!  :clap1: :2thunbs:

Guess I need a scuba mask when I go swimming with King.  And just when you thought the waters were safe...

Also, hope the reference to tiki stuff means there will be some tiki items soon.

Glad to see you posting Wendy!! :)

Yup! King gased up the place good! I think I saw some dead frogs floating in the pools... not sure... could had been some vfkers.... rofl.

I love that you can change into a suit and not purchase on if needed. :)

Lots of bugs. Fish and I cannot swim or sit on the nice looking lounge chairs.
Hope soon. My clone on the other hand, can.

AMAZING! WOW! I have to say excellent job VFK and THANK YOU for finally fixing whatever the problem was with my little princess not being able to swim! (it almost turned out to be a very bad day- you don't ever want to upset the princess! She was so  when she could not get in the pool or sit on the lounge chairs even after clearing/refreshing/changing browsers, wearing a bathing suit, clicking on the water etc. She sent 2 messages to help with no response)

We saw the post about the pool coming out on saturday evening and as soon as my princess woke up she had to get on VFK to find out if it was open and if she could at least go buy a bathing suit. Well she couldn't do either so instead did the quest. I kept checking for her throughout the afternoon and finally saw Legend on the map saying "pool this way"! Princessmadiro got on immediately! Then had big problems. Lag wasn't bad on her PC (her Mac was awful with the lag but no problem getting in the water or crashing) She is so stubborn and likes her PC better cause the screen is bigger and wouldn't even try the Mac. She got off and was so upset she said " my brain is fried I can't think to do anything else". So she just surfed the web and finally I convinced her to get on her Mac around 6PM. I got on her PC and had no problem (not sure why it finally worked) so I switched her back to the PC and she was in heaven.  She loved going off the diving board, getting in and out of the pool and of course just swimming! Occasionally she would crash but it would log her right back on. She didn't (wouldn't)get off till bedtime and then even closed at the pool during her breathing treatment.

One of princess's favorite places on VMK was the pool because of being able to see her little self actually swimming and all. For someone who can't do this in real life it's a very BIG DEAL! Although she still misses VMK very much VFK made her a very happy little girl with all the little extra touches Wendy mentioned!  :dance2: I haven't really seen or heard so much excitement from her since she got to sit on santa's lap in VFK! They keep coming up with more and better amazing experiences!  :)

I can't believe it but somehow we missed seeing most of you.  :'(

The glitches are fun. I saw several people swimming in the air, with blue bodies as if they were in the water still.  :laugh2:

Awesome seeing King there gassing up the H2O ;)  Wish I had run into Wendy, but didn't see her.  King put on a fine display, needless to say ;)  Although it looked like VFK missed some things when skimming the pools...ahem...I think that King made it so bad that they had to change the filters last night.  LOL.  Awesome seeing King back in action :)

Loved the bugs:  blue bodies, walk on water, ghost costume while swimming, magic while diving and in the water, people swimming outside the pool...tons of unexpected fun and mayhem!

All in all, job extremely well done by VFK!    :2thunbs:

While in the new pool areas, if you use Shift key and click on the floor you can sit on the floor.

If you start diving and then while still 'falling' do Shift key and click pool it looks like a cannonball somewhat.
-----
I get lots of lag in the pool areas, to the point of needing to close window--might have to go in 'private' pool unless lag goes away. :(

I just noticed this cool sit feature too, Fun!  You can do it the rooms after the waterfall entry.  Also, did you notice you can sit at the tables with the umbrellas and chairs?

This pool area is soooooo much more than VMK.  Just fantastic work, VFK!

I had trouble doing that too...I had to double click or triple click click click on the colors on the floor to get to the boards - and still didn't always work for me. Yep that evil lag locks mine up too :(
Title: Re: 7/19 Pools & Inland Ocean Shop
Post by: flamanar on July 20, 2009, 10:08 PM
Yeah, lag has been beyond ridiculous there.  Stop/start.  Repeat.  Firefox crashed on me tonight for the first time in awhile.  Hoping it eases up ALOT.  Still fun there...while it lasts :)

Thanks for the tip, Fun!  Kewl, indeed :)

The diving boards:  yes, problems with clicking on the colors.  Worse is when someone decides to block the colors (whether on purpose or if they freeze there).  VFK definitely needs to fix that.

Also, am I the only one who couldn't figure out how to exit the island shop?  That back area looked like a wall to me!  LOL.  I didn't notice until today that it was a sandy area with a table on it.  Looks like it goes up at a 90 degree angle...maybe it's me poor eyesight O.O

Still saw some people today swimming on land, half blue, walking on water.   :lolg:

Seriously, that back exit does look like a wall.  The sand really does look like it goes from floor to ceiling.  Weird optical effect.  Guess they wanted the exit there, so they had to raise the wall like that.  I would have put the exit on the right wall where the open door is...

O.O  Changing room?  I thought they were where you first entered that pool area?  I tried to go in that doorway on the side of the building that houses the store...and couldn't...  -confused- :(

And if you stand in the store and gaze at that sand 'wall', look to the right edge of it.  It looks like there is a kindof small doorway there that leads out.  I've finally figured out what it is.  It's the short blue wall that is to the left of the entrance of the shop before you enter -.-  It's almost like an optical illusion...you look at it a certain way, and it looks like an exit (or a blue towel ;) .  You know it's a wall and THEN you see that it's just a wall.

Flamanar...easily confused... :??:

There are two changing rooms, two rooms at the entrance of the room, left hand side to the right. And the open door, which is in the right side of the pool. Easily to be confused if you did not try it. I went into that opened door to change on my first visit to the pool.

Really want more furnish.....

The door to the right hand side of the shop while standing outside...I can't enter that door/building.  The only changing room I can enter is the building with 2 doors to the left of shop.

hehe, ok, what did you find?

I'll have to go back in and try that other changing room door on building to the right of the store again too

Edit: When standing outside of the shop/pool room:  I can enter the 2 little doors of the changing room building to the left of shop --cannot enter open door on the building to the right of the shop...

- maybe they saw me coming for another blue towel and locked it! -

Hey Abbott!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did you find the blue towel?  :tongue3:

-edit- Seems the open door is no longer a changing room. It was working on the first day.

And the blue thing in the shop, top corner right hand side is a marble planter.

Also, the sign on the BeachBalls says 50% off, they are so not!!! Mr. Smith still has them at full price! Guess the mail coach has not arrived to tell him as yet. haha.

Hey Abbott!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did you find the blue towel?  :tongue3:

marble planter on top corner right hand side of the shop? I wasn't looking there.
I was inside shop looking at top left shop corner between the store floor shelves and the sand with table and chairs
Wouldn't it be funny if we are all looking in different spots?  :rofl1:
New game for VFK: I see something blue....

One thing for sure- there is a blue door/towel/wall thingy/marble planter/something in the shop....  :lolg:

I went and questioned Mr Smith about the price of BeachBalls - he ignored me.  :-X

I think I need more grog. The sand looks like a floor to me, don't see how it looked like a wall to you flame, it has a table and chairs set on it. And the blue planter, well, it has dirt and a plant in it. And Pixie, I wonder what the poor store manager thought about you changing clothes in their backroom.

=Golden -- remembering days during college when occassionally the floor liked like a wall.  :drunk: :drunk:

I kept reaching behind that green plant to reach blue towel...no wonder!
-puts me grog away-  :drunk:

hehe, ok, what did you find?

I'll have to go back in and try that other changing room door on building to the right of the store again too

Edit: When standing outside of the shop/pool room:  I can enter the 2 little doors of the changing room building to the left of shop --cannot enter open door on the building to the right of the shop...

- maybe they saw me coming for another blue towel and locked it! -

Have to agree with golden---I found a sandy beach with table/chairs on it, which is where I exited the first time I was in the shop, and blue planter/wall!

And yes, .It, I DO remember that phrase!

The problem here appears to be an excess of grog, methinks.  LOL

OK:  first, congrats on Fun for being president of the organization I recently joined.   Is there a special handshake or something?

Next:  Where I was looking was the bottom right of the sand "wall"...which looks kinda like a doorway opening.

Next:  No way anybody is getting in that side door on the building.  I clicked all over the door, wall and ceiling there.  Ended up knocking...no answer...

Next:  I agreed with Golden...I think that door leads to the store backroom.  Sheesh....Pix will change any old place... :lolp:

Next:  We can all agree on the fact that:  there is a door/wall/towel/planter/etc. in the back part of the store.  LOL

Next:  I'm wondering why anyone would want to plant marbles?  :hmmmm:

My conclusion:  I think the back wall is actually a mural and it's not really sand with a table and marble planter with dirt, plants and towels at all!

The REAL problem will be when the door is a jar... :o

Flamanar...planting marbles?...-gets some marbles and goes off to try it-...

Wow, all I can say is Wow.

That's a planter! I tried to look it as a door...or a wall... or a blue towel...   :??: :hmmmm:  Ummm.....  I'm not sure what to say about some of you ;)

And the sand as a wall??  I tried, Flame, I really tried.  I couldn't change the perspective of it to go up.... it just looks EXACTLY like it's supposed to look - a floor of open sand with a table/chairs on it.

I'd hate for some of you to look at those ink blot pictures.  Can't imagine what you'd come up with.  Probably get yourself committed too ;)
