Title: NEW Features on Your Room "i" Button
Post by: KingQuackATac on April 03, 2009, 07:11 AM
Now available on your room "i" buttons is the option to allow friends to jump to the room. So, now there is officially a way to lock your room. Nice job VFK!  :thumb:

Not to sound anti-social, but Hooray for this feature!  :wavet: There are some times when I am building or just afk a lot while storing items, etc. and I usually just go into single mode to do that. This is so much better.  :thumb: Finally, locks on our virtual doors. They are really starting to add some small but mighty features in game - Woot!  :dance2:

Agreed!  No more worrying about missing host hunts or important events while I'm in single mode...although I will miss the solitude/serenity that goes along with single mode. ;)

In case anyone didn't know this:

If you have Furni Perms set on a specific room that you don't want friends to follow to.  Those friend(s) will still be able to follow to that specific room that you have Furni Perms authorized for them on.   ;)   However, they will need to go to that specific room (your room) from their own room list.  If they just try and follow to you, using the friend list -- they can't follow.  Interesting huh?

I had been testing that out, and that's what I came up with so far.

Ok....bear with me.  I'm REAL slow today!  Can you explain that again?  It went right over me pea-sized brain.  I think I understand what you mean...and it's cool...but I'm not sure.  Thanks Astro! :)

I know, it's really confusing.  Let's try this again.  I'm trying to think of how I can better explain it  :hmmmm:  I did test it out, because I had questions and it does work this way.  I can be available to show you what I mean, in game, if you would like to as well?  Just let me know.

Even if Flame un-checks the box, to not allow friends to jump to this room:

Flame has a room that you set with Furni Perms for Astro.  Astro will still be able to follow to Flame's room (regardless if you are in that room or not) that you gave me authorization for.

Because, Astro can enter your room from My own personal room list. (Your room that you gave me authorization on, will show on My own room list)

So, once again if you have that particular room set to not allow friends to jump -- Astro will not be able to jump to you, by using my "Friend List" -- and the "Goto Friend Button".  However, I can only jump to Flame by going to your room, from My own room list.

Which if you think about it, makes perfect sense.  Why should I be locked out of Flame's room that he gave me Furni Perms for, and my inventory might be in that room, right?  However, by locking down your room using the "Allow Friends to Jump to This Room", if I just try and follow Flame from my friend list, I won't be able to enter -- and neither will any of his other friends either (just like the option is supposed to work).

Clear as mud now?  Let me know.     ;)

AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! :jester:

I think I got it.  I played with it some today and did some tests, too.  I locked my starter room, but gave 3 people furnish perm access to that same room.  So I was able to lock the room AND select individual people that could go there anyways...not by following me via the friends list, but by going to my room that shows at the bottom of their room list.  Is that what you were talking about?  I thought it was BEYOND cool!  Let me know if I'm on the same wavelength :)  Thanks!

UPDATE:  You can only add a maximum of 20 ppl to your furnish perms list.  Just an FYI.

Yes, you got it!   ;)   Bolded most important.

Yes, BEYOND cool ~ That's why I thought it would be best to bring it up, because some might have not known otherwise.   :)

Everyone here that already knows me, knows I tend to talk in "novels"...lol.  Bad habit I know.  I don't know how to talk in "short stories".  Sorry.    hehe

YAY!  :)  I'm so happy with this new option.  I actually was gonna call Gail today and ask her if they could allow us to lock the room, but still select individual friends which could still have access to the room.  Then I read what you first posted here and went "hmmmmm".  Hehe!  So glad...can't tell ya.  rofl.  Thanks for bringing this up! :clapping: :clap1: :dance3:

Flamanar...who also has been known to talk in novels...hehe
