VFK Mother’s Day Quest 2016!

Today is Mother’s Day! Motherhood has been honored since ancient times with celebrations and festivals. Cultures such as the ancient Greeks paid tribute to mothers as goddesses by celebrating Rhea, the mother of all their gods. In addition, the ancient Romans honored Cybele, their mother goddess with a festive springtime celebration. In modern times, the second Sunday in May has been set aside to honor mothers. On today’s quest, we will look at the history of honoring one of the most important people in your life, your mother!
