Title: New "Game in a bottle" prizes for mini-games? UPDATE: NOW NEW MAGIC, TOO..
Post by: flamanar on December 30, 2009, 06:54 PM
There is chatter on other boards about people winning fireworks in a bottle for doing the fireworks game, audubon game and checkers.  As of this post, I haven't run into ANYONE who has won a bottle.  However, there is one pic that was posted elsewhere of the fireworks game bottle.  Nobody seems to know the rhythm or rhyme to winning these things.  Just an FYI.  If anyone obtains credible/concrete info on these bottles and how to win them, please feel free to share.

I've only run to one person who has the fireworks bottle and had stated that he plays fireworks ALOT!

Enigma was on the map answering only some of the questions about these bottles:

She said they are not given out randomly.  - so not like the crossword?

She said all the games have bottles prize. - she didn't answer exactly which other than fireworks and all games.

She said to play all the games alot.- said if we play alot we could figure it out

She said They will be around a long time.

--------------------
so that was about all people could get her to say; just enough with not much info.

I wonder if we can win more then one of each bottle to help others out as well?

See now this is why VFK should POST on their homepage.  Everyone has no idea what's going on as usually.  :td:  :madder:  Bring on the lag and crashing!

There is some sort of "SECRET" being alluded to about how to 'win' the bottles that each game gives out.
The 'hint' here I THINK was to "Play the games ALOT" those that have been will win SOONer? than later
maybe since ScarlettPixie says she plays checkers alot...she got one from that game....
Ormonddude plays AWA ALOT...and he has 2 of those bottles so far....you can win multipals!
Seems inside of each is something related to the game played....AWA has a jeep inside/checkers the board
Past game play MAY 'count or add up' to some set amount ....I DO NOT know if there is a message or IF these bottles Just show up in your inventory?
Many traders do not play games and therefore must play alot to win leveling the field some to those who play daily?or trade alot away to those rewarding them for their playing? who knows?
It does get everyone out interacting and working together playing games....BUT are we having FUN YET?!!
Since we must "play each game ALOT" they better stay around "a long time" OMG with lag and old VMK computers being used and clones now playing along ...Look out below
Guess it is another item I do not have time to help others with let alone get one of each for my "collection" :( GL
to each of you and Happy New Year!

Um...am I the only one who thinks this whole bottle thing is absolutely INSANE?!!  NOBODY knows how to get the bottles.  All we know is that it's NOT random, and it doesn't matter if you get the high score or win a round or not!  I've heard people say they've played all day, played all night, played twenty games, won, lost, etc.  This is...a bad word which I'll refrain from saying in case my kids are watching.  Flame is passing into:   :bm:

Flamanar...I'm gonna make a game and not tell anyone how to win.  :hmm:

ROFL.  Well done ;)

This thing is actually sad.  It's taking people away from spending time with friends and family.  It's also unnerving a LARGE amount of people (hang out for a bit in the game lobbies...you'll see what I mean).  Why they're doing it like this is beyond my comprehension.  No offense to VFK (we all know they make mistakes and are human), but I'm chalking this up as the biggest blunder by VFK.  Ever.

Worse:  if they do decide to make it really easy to get the bottles (and the new magic), they'll infuriate the people who spent days upon days playing games without winning.

Whatever.

It is a game in a bottle that is so hard to see. Not going to waste my time on this. Since I do not trade seems pointless until someone figures it out :)

It is nice to have a "trophy" for the game you play. A nice reward for hours spent. But why waste your time on something you really never play to get a game in a bottle.

Back to the sane world I go. Good luck to all who pursue this seemingless pointless endevour.

Hopefully someone will figure it out :) Then you will know you need some outrageous number like 5000 games to get it :) Happy clicking :)

Yeah, it seems pointless.  Yet the collectors among us want to have at least 1.  Also, there was a new magic which was 'discovered' yesterday called 'Focus magic'.  You apparently get this after winning a bottle from each of the 6 minigames in VFK.  Sigh...

rofl that is insane. How long would you have to play each game to get that. Now we barely have enought time to build rooms. Since we are hunting and questing and hunting and questing. I think this is not a bad idea VFK has.

It means there is something for everyone on there. If you like the games you get rewarded. If you like to hunts you get rewarded.  It gives you something to work  towards over a very very long time. Which is good to keep the players aiming to get another item.

Lol, you have to win the games to count towards the total needed to get the bottle!?? I'm so sorry for those of you who are collectors that really want it! Pixie, I'll come by sometime and look at yours because I will never ever win that many Pirate games (or checkers games)...

Well, I have been a little out of the loop for a couple days. Here is our take on this. I don't think this is really a bad thing. Like Belle said, there is something for everyone here. For game players, this is a nice reward, just as host hunt prizes are great for those who are good at those or quest items are a reward for those who do quests with clones, etc. Some people are likening this to the "Blackheart Quest" on VMK. I remember that weekend and how that ended and this is no Blackheart Quest. Now, if VFK pulled these items anytime soon, then I feel I would have something to complain about.

We like to have the different items in game and we will be trying to get these bottles also. If we can, we will probably grab extras for friends whose computers do not get along with the mini-games.  :sur: I can tell you that I already earned the AWA and Fireworks bottles and I really didn't find it that stressful. I have no idea the rhyme or reason behind how these bottles are rewarded. I will say I played 2 games of birds (takes me 30 minutes or more to get through 1 game) and got the bottle. Fireworks, I played 13 games or so and then got the bottle. I just look at it as a way to get credits and enjoy some of the games I have not made time for lately.

I usually stick to birds, because that is the best credit return for me, but I actually enjoyed playing fireworks again. I even got up to over 7,000 today, which is my highest yet. King had just been asking me the other day if the pirate lobby was still as crowded as when it was first released. Sadly it was not, until now. We are planning some family games of Night Fighters, Laser Tag, Pirates, and Checkers for this weekend. The kids love blasting mom in those Space Age games!  :rofl1: :sur: Hopefully, we can have some fun and earn bottles at the same time. Maybe, we can set up some NoBS friendly games of Pirates, etc. to help friends win the games they could not otherwise?

Like I said, if these items go away sooner rather than later, then I will let my opinion be heard. Until then, good luck to everyone! If you want to organize some friendly games just post something here and we can have some NoBS fun in game! :pcannon: :pirates: :pcheers:

Aww :(  I just double-checked with my Dr...and he said no rum for Flame :(  My meds don't like big-people juice :(  Sigh...

Ok.  So far I've received 2 bottles.  Here's my totals:

Checkers:  won 10 games in a row (we did...ahem...'community play' ;)  ).  Used a different opponent for every game.  Got the bottle on the 10th game.
Fireworks:  won 6 games in a row (some were by myself) with scores between 5500 and 6000 each game.  Got the bottle on the 6th game.  Note:  each game of fireworks takes about 20 minutes to complete (yeah...we timed it!)

That's all the bottle news from Flame for now.  LOL.  GL EVERYBODY!

NOTE:  it's rumored that if you acquire a bottle by TRADING for it, it doesn't count towards the new Focus magic!!  Haven't confirmed this, but it came from a reputable source.  They traded for their last bottle to complete the 6 bottles needed for the new magic.  They didn't get the new magic!  Haven't talked to them since, but if they get the magic after earning that last bottle, I'll update here.

Flamanar...have some rum for Flame :(  Looks like I'm a permanent 'designated driver'

I will post my winnings again here and we can keep comparing notes.

Birds took me 2 games, each one I did all 60 levels and each took 30-45 minutes. I also had a small game in there that I had to exit early on, but I don't think that counted for anything.

Fireworks took me about 13 games, scoring between 6,200-6,900 each time. Based on other folks winnings, I still can't figure these 2 out. Some people have played for hours and hours and nothing?  :??:

I am getting ready to go back and finish my checkers experiment. I have heard pretty consistently that 10-11 wins with all different people get the bottle. I will update here if I find that true - that would also match your findings Flame.

Tomorrow, I get to get my tushie kicked by my family on the Space Age games lol!

ROFL :rofl1:  We had some very 'bad' clones as well ;)  LOL.  Ya gotta take the good with the bad!

I did update my earlier post to say that I won those games in checkers and fireworks all in a row.  No losses in between.  That might explain the low number of 6 games for me in fireworks?  Completely guessing here...

Ok.  Just got the Night Fighters bottles for me and .It with Fish.is family helping :)  (hugs Fish.i)  And (hugs) to Pixie as well for offering.  We were almost done by then.  I will take a raincheck, though ;)

Total games for Flame:  2, winning both in a row.  However, I did play a few games night before last, too.  So...I think those count, too.
Total games for .It:  3, winning all 3 in a row.  Again, she did play a few games the other night as well.

So it's on to the next game.

GL all :)

Ok.  Myself and .It got our Laser Tag bottles tonight.  Through much experimenting with Flamanar, we came up with the following:

Flamanar took about 10-15 games to get the bottle.  Almost all the games were with one clone.

Flamanette:  4 games!!!!  We found out that if you fight against 2 clones, and make sure they keep moving while you shoot them relentlessly (but not enough to blur them!!! Watch their meters!!), you will get astronomical scores.  Her scores were:

1.600
2.500
3.1200
4.1087  bottle awarded

We really refined it in .Its try at the bottle.  I feel that 2 people who are very fast and alert could get a bottle at Laser Tag in maybe 3 or even 2 rounds!  Today was a 'Remicade Tuesday' for Flame...so he was...less than alert :(

The key is watching the meters.  When you hit one clone till their ALMOST toast, switch to the other clone and start blasting them till their ALMOST toast, then switch back.  Repeat as necessary.  You will probably run out of ammo once or twice, but it's no biggy.  Let it get back up to about halfway and start blasting away again.  The other thing to make sure of is that the clones are CONSTANTLY moving while being shot.  Even if it's just back and forth a step or two.  The clones don't need to shoot at all.

GL all :)

Well, I played Fireworks for a good part of one afternoon (and evening). I tend to average about 5,000 pts (my daughter tells me she does *much* better without even trying :tongue3:). I had given up on getting anything at that time. Next day I was looking through my inventory for the second part of a teleporter (kept ending up in rooms I had forgotten I'd had), and the last item in my inventory was a bottle full of "trees". I pulled it out and so we all could look at it and the fireworks started flying inside. It's pretty cool.

Lol.  Hate when that happens.  They should have a popup when you get the bottle.  It's easy to miss a notice at the bottom of a score listing.  Especially Laser Tag.  I had to scroll down to see it.  Congrats :)

Congrats to everyone on the bottles so far!  :thumb: I have to say, the fireworks bottle is my favorite. I love the fireworks shooting off inside.  :dance2:

My kids are too busy "blurring" mom out in laser tag, so King and I will have to go in with clones and try your strategy, Flame and .It. Thanks for everyone posting tips and updates. Maybe if people still need help as the weekend approaches, we can set up some NoBS games!

Wow!!!

Looks like I've missed quite a bit here -Between Christmas and New Year's my computer got a "nuisance" virus which really was a pain in the *** - computer was down for days.  Dear hub had to call the computer support people to get it removed and computer back on line.  Told him I don't even want to know what that cost  :bm: And then, me being me, still somewhat afraid to be on line dreading another attack  :sur:

Think I'll give up on the bottles - I don't score well in any of the games, lucky if I get 150 in birds (are the jeeps going faster than they used to?) - fireworks I get a lag or freeze for a second or so which causes even less points.

Question: the bottles are tradeable I saw posted. But what about the magic from them?  Thinking that's my only hope of obtaining those bottles and the magic from the games.

edit: Home today, so I played a few games of bird and fireworks - did better today bc no kids in the game?  But still no bottles from them.

Red: Thanks so much for your help with checkers and the quests!

Hugs Fun! Aww, I was wondering where you were.

Yes, the bottles are tradeable and so is the magic :)

We can all help you win the laser, night fighters, pirates and checkers bottles. As for the two others. No worries, take is very slow. Enigma said that the bottles will be around for a long time. However, knowing them now, I don't know if it means a week, a month or a year. LOL.

Thank you all so much for the detailed info on how you are getting the bottles. Not sure if I can spend much time
playing these games and I'm not very good at them anyway- never was on VMK either but friendly games sure do help. princess can't even play some of these games. She LOVES to play checkers and I know she wants the checker bottle so if anyone see's her on please ask her to play checkers with you. The only other one she would like to have is the fireworks bottle. Boy this does remind me of the Blackheart quest and those were some stressful days! I had to tell her there was no way I would be able to get that done for her and it broke my heart. If it weren't for some dis angels  who surprised her and helped big time she never would have gotten that treasure detector magic. Oh and that sure made my life easier when she got that magic. WOOT!
(where are my gamers when I need them? LOL!)

Forgive me if I've missed this somewhere but can someone tell me about (or is there a picture of) the focus magic and what it does?

Thanks in advance.  GL to all and HAVE FUN!!!!!

Still haven't won any bottles but haven't really tried yet either except fireworks.  My question is do you have to win these games all in a row or does it seem to be going by the total number of games won?  If it's in a row I guess I might as well figure I'll have no bottles other than maybe fireworks.

Also those of you good at the bird game, what is the trick with the jeep?  I don't mess up because of the birds, it's always because I run out of gas.  No matter what I try this happens. :(

I'm not that good at birds, but I did finally win the bottle for it.

Moving the jeep: mouse click on screen and then use your arrow left and right keys to move the jeep side to side.  I don't get all the gas cans either. I usually get the first room's both gas cans; the second room I only aim for the last gas can.  The rest I don't remember other than if it's too "buried" into stuff I skip it while going for the easier ones.  I never use the up arrow; rarely to almost never use the down arrow -- they both use too much gas for me.  Anyone else good at birds probably have some good pointers for the jeep more than I.

Congrats Lisu!

------------------

Night Fighters bottles- it is confirmed by another player and myself.

You win the model ship that you play on. So, if you win on Pink Wrath, that will be your bottle that will be added to your inventory.
You win on Blue Wrath etc.... that will be what will go in the inventory.

You do NOT need all Night Fighters bottle for the magic, one is what you need. So no panic that you must win all those bottles. Win one NF bottle and go to next game on your list.

Said this, Flame and I had a bet how many bottles the NF game would give out. Seems he won, so now I have to call VFK and place an order for 3 membership... :'(

ROFL.  Silly Pix :)

BTW:  Flame has earned his last bottle and has lost his focus!  I mean has received his Focus!  YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  :heat: :heat: :heat:

Pirates was the last for me.  The strategy that worked best was getting three other people to play with you.  Hit each of them once and let them recover health.  Repeat as many times as possible and work quickly.  If you need to travel to get more ammo, it's a good idea for them to follow you to save time.  The other 3 people don't need to shoot at all.  Just take a single hit and go recover their health right away.  Follow this method and your points will be very nice and it won't take long to get the bottle :)

Best of luck to all.  Gonna try to get the night fighter bottles now.  Blech.

Just got .IT her final bottle (Pirates) and Focus magic!

Another tip:  you can do this with only 2 players as well.  Keep close to each other, BOTH players hit their opponent once or twice (enough to take at least 2-4 health off), then both get your health back up.  Replenish ammo if necessary as well.  STAY CLOSE!  When it's between 30 seconds to 10 seconds left in the game, the person trying for the bottle should vaporize their opponent.  Wella.  Doing it like this, I had .It winning over 1,000 points a game.  It also helps the other player raise their scores as well...helping them lessen the time it will take to get their bottle.

Next is Hero.

GL!

Wow.  Each time we play these games, we refine our strategy.  Just got Heros last bottle and Focus magic.  Last bottle was Laser Tag.  I think they've upped the amount of points you need to get the bottle for this game.  But...we did it in 3 games today.  Here's the scores using the method I talked about earlier:

4,454
2,401
4,211 bottle awarded

Again, the key is to keep the clones close to the shooter and moving back and forth as quickly as possible while being shot. They must move very quickly, so just put them in front of the shooter and move them back and forth using the left and right arrow keys as fast as possible until the clone is almost blurred.  Then move the second clone close to the shooter and do the same thing, while the last clone regains some health.  Switch back and forth as necessary until it's between 10-30 seconds left in the round, then blur one of the clones.  If possible, wait till 10 seconds or less to blur the last clone standing.  GL!

Nice method, yes, but not possible if you are playing by yourself and most of the players are playing by themselves with a clone. Not easy task to accomplish with two hands.

I'm doing the "taking turns shoot" One takes about 30 shots, then the other takes 30 shots or less (as this is the person who will lose) then move a little around before the next 30 shots. I got around 200-300 score per game with this method if you are playing with one clone only.

what do you mean on the verge of needing? I've been there a few years.

If you leave off the reading glasses then *everyone* has Focus magic :laugh2:

I'm too lazy to read every post, does anyone know if it has to be six unique bottles to get the magic, or just six bottles "in the category". There is no way I can get beyond about 15 levels of Audubon. But I have two fireworks and a checkers so far.

By the way, I couldn't remember the login for my daughter and hubby's users (and they never use them) so I kept guestimating passwords (so I could beat them both at checkers ;)) and I got a warning that a notice was being sent to the VFK authorities... I'm hoping I'm not in real trouble

I believe you need 1 bottle from each of the 6 games to get the magic (from what I've read)

With Audubon, keep playing those games no matter what level - the points are cumulative so they keep track somewhere.  The first time I did Audubon bottle I did not keep track; the second Audubon bottle I did:                Total games played:       23
                     Total points earned:  25,846
I did this spread out over 3 different nights. - and my scores for each game were all over the place: some 154, 212, 116, 692, 3,738, 332 (some were just "easier"  :rofl1: than others)

I heard some people saying you needed over 20,000; others saying you needed just over 30,000

You can do it Bronwyn  :thumb:

I think I had that warning once as well with log in attempting. If you know what email was used for them you could check the old saved email for a confirmation perhaps. I think it shows your password with those.

-busted-  :shy:

lol. yup.  I'm almost done, though.

Another tip to add (maybe not a tip, but a heads up), they've changed the countdown timers for the Night Fighters and Space Pirates games (not sure about Laser Tag because we run the clock out).  Now when all opponents are wiped out, you don't have to sit there and wait till the rest of the time runs out (-yawn-).  As soon as the last opponent is toast, the countdown timers will immediately start counting down 10 seconds!  Yay!  And about time ;)  So me and Hero have been doing the Night Fighter rounds in about...2-3 minutes each?  And with Flame fighting 3 other clones, it takes 5 games per bottle (900 credits a game).  So it's been going very fast.  Fast = good :)

Also adding that with the new ships available in Night Fighters, you are awarded the ship color and style that you won playing with.  So if you played with a 'Black Wrath', that will be your bottle.  Not sure if you need to play ALL the rounds while trying to win a bottle with the same ship, or just the last round.  Haven't tried.  We just play the same ship through all the rounds to be safe.

Birds took me 2 games, each one I did all 60 levels and each took 30-45 minutes. I also had a small game in there that I had to exit early on, but I don't think that counted for anything.
Okay, for a rather, uh, "poor" player, what points/credits does going all 60 levels give you? I'm going to have to do this the slow, slow, repeatitous way (perserverance I think is one of the words they use when they give you the bottle). And just trying to estimate how many hundreds games it's going to take me.

Hugs Golden!  :bighug: Well, lately for me a full game averages 20,000. Although, if my jeep gets a little quirky, it can be 16,000 - 18,000. I helped King with his and it took more than 2 games, but on the third game, I only got about half way through with 8,000 credits and won the bottle.

Pretty much, I am not sure exactly what the trigger here is. Is it cumulative score or cumulative time in the game? I know, I probably was not much help here. Clear as mud, right?  :??:

Final pics.  Got the rest of the Night Fighter bottles.  The key to Night Fighters (in case I didn't post it already) is to get a friend to log on 3 clones as targets.  Pic the ship you want.  When the round starts, raise your ship so that you can see and shoot properly.  The other person should do the same with one of theirs at the same time.  It's a kind of 'ballet' after awhile.  LOL.  Each of you have to move up or down so that you're actually hitting them.  Once the first clone is done, the other player rises the second clone (they also could just raise all three at the beginning and adjust their heights as needed for them to be shot).  If you do this quick enough, you can finish a game in 2-3 minutes.  For this amount of ships, you will earn 900 credits each game.  5 games = ship bottle.  Obviously, the more clones you have to shoot in a game, the more credits you'll earn, and the less games it will take.  Here ya go:

Night Fighter bottles:

Top ships are Wrath, middle Barracuda, bottom Raptor

Original 6 bottles needed to be earned in order to obtain Focus Magic:

From left to right: Audubon, Space Pirates, Night Fighters, Laser Tag, Checkers and Fireworks

I learned from experience that you can't "cheat" on checkers, and throw the game after a move or two. I don't know if it's points-based, but ten wins by default do not get you a bottle

Last time I did Audubon I got something like 22 points. I'd better clear my calendar for the next few months :D

Am I the only one too intimidated to try Laser Tag or Night Fighters. I've gotten mediocre scores on the Pirate ships; how many points do I need for a bottle?

I'm the same way with Audubon.  I'm just playing a few games here and there and maybe next year if I'm lucky, I'll get the bottle. lol

I too am intimidated with Laser Tag and Night Fighters and even Pirate ships because I've never played them before.   Maybe we can meet up sometime and give them a try.

For Pirates, I'm not sure how many points we got.  It doesn't send you a message to your inbox after the game like checkers and fireworks and audubon.  Follow my strategy at the top of page 4 of this thread and you'll have a bottle in no time.

Audubon = ridiculous.  Better invest in a 16-month calendar...  :heat:

Checkers:  10 games.  Everytime.  You can't throw the game after 1 or 2 moves.  The idea is for the opponent to move their checkers into position to be taken asap...until the game is complete.  10 consecutive wins was it for us after multiple tries (and others as well).  Unless they changed it... :hmmmm:  Ironically, we've found it quite a different type of challenge and skill needed in some games to TRY to lose.  Very funny :)

Best advice in ALL the games is to find a 'gaming buddy'.  All the games (with the exception of fireworks and audubon) are very quickly completed using 2 players.  Trying to play using tabs by yourself will take a significant amount of time.

Best of luck

Flamanar

We used clones for our checkers games. Flame is right, it actually takes some strategy to try and lose because you are forced to jump when a jump is available. It actually took 11 wins for Princess and I to get the bottle. We haven't done the kids yet. They play checkers here and there, so maybe it will only take 10 wins for them. I have heard many say the magic number for checkers is 10 or 11. I don't know.  :??:

In checkers do the wins have to be all in a row or is it just a total of 10 or 11 wins?  I'll never get 10 in a row and I could see myself having 9 wins and then a loss and having to start all over again so please tell me this isn't the case.

I lined up a bunch of clones :notme:, and played actually 12 consecutive games of checkers, each against a different clone (I'll look back, but maybe it wasn't consecutive -- pretty sure at least ten of them were though). After a move or two my "opponent" (yeah, it was me in two windows) clicked off the board and opted to "quit" the game. My player got a message that my opponent wanted to quit and did I agree (yes). I would get a message that I had one the game with an impressive 5 or 10 points. But after 10 or 12 games, no bottle. I went back and *played* the games (it can be hard to lose, especially if I lose track of which clone is "me"), and I got the bottle. Hmmm, maybe it's worth an experiment. I'll ask a clone if they want a bottle :D.

At least we weren't the only people testing the 'quitting method' at checkers.  :waveh: Didn't work for us, either!   :lolg:

Pirates:  see the top of page 4 of this thread to see how to high score.  If you play Aurora using that method, you'll both have your bottles in no time because you're both accumulating points each game...no matter who wins.  Takes a little practice lining the ships up to shoot and be shot (again, a type of 'ballet' happening there LOL).

Some clarification on checkers please?

Do you have to win against different opponents? I've been playing against one of my clones and I haven't been keeping track but I'm pretty sure I've done well over 10 games.

On checkers, we used a different opponent for every game, yes.  Hope that helps :)

It or Flame or anyone else who has their bottles already, can you or some clones help me get bottles.  I usually playing Checkers, but usually have to play my family because no one is there at night time to play, but already won against them so winning again won't help a second time around.  Also I played one game of Laser Tag before and froze up till the game was over so any help with getting bottles would be great.  Thanks so much!  Hugzzzzz!

Wow, so much info here!  :2thunbs: Thank you so much everyone for sharing strategy! Now that I am starting to feel a little more "human", I am thinking it might be good to set up a guide for the bottles. Then, we can have a one stop shopping area for these games. It may take me a few days, but we will make this happen. King, myself, and the kids all need the space bottles. So, all of the hints there are greatly appreciated!  :bighug:

Np Wendy :)  Oddly, some items in the bottles look better when the bottle is facing a different direction from others.  Rather than having bottles facing opposite directions here and there, I left them all facing the same direction.  Might take another pic with them facing the other direction if I find some 'me' time  :heat:  ;)

I have all my bottles except for Laser Tag.

I can't find anyone playing that game and my computer throws a hissy fit anytime I try to log two accounts into Laser Tag at one time. I could use a little help if you have some time and don't mind being a target.

I have more information on Fireworks bottle.  Seems like the magic number is 45,000 points before you get the bottle.

I played all games against NOBODY but myself and was able to get the bottle at the above level.

Hope that helps :)

On Topic ... HUGE Congrats to everyone that has finished this task with these crazy bottles.    :trophy:     I for one, don't have the time or patience, at this very moment to attempt this huge task.  Sooooo, I have traded for the basic 6 bottles and Focus magic.        Yup, I cheated.    ;D     Honestly, it didn't even cost me an arm and a leg....so I'm wondering if this stuff has been out long enough by now that it's not so "rare"?  dunno

Awww Fun, I feel for ya guys, I really do.   :'(

I do not want to take away from anyone that has even started or finished the "mini-game bottles/rewards".  I know it would take me personally, FOREVER to do this!  I'm not a patient person.    :lolg:  I was getting anxious after reading about all this, and I'm a sucker for new magic anyway.   :shy:

I'm sure it feels like a great accomplishment when you earn all these bottles and magic yourself.  I hope that this stuff will be around long enough for me, to at least try.  Someday "soon"?  when real life calms down a bit.

In the meantime, don't give up, Fun & Red and anyone else trying.  Keep at it, it's all within your reach.   :clapping:

Save yourself the headache.  Trade if you can LOL.

lol Flame, I have given up on those ice sculptures, I will have to come visit all of yours and Pixies and .Its.  :lolg: Maybe you guys could make an icy petting zoo?  ;)

Astro, I am so glad you got the bottles and magic. We were worried about you with those things and were trying to figure out how we might be able to help.

Flame and family, I wanted to say a special thanks to you guys for posting all of the hints about the Space mini-games. It made playing Pirates, Night Fighters, and especially Laser Tag much easier. We finally got all bottles for us and the kids yesterday. ( I was feeling blech, so I was the target(s) in Laser Tag and Night Fighters.  :sur:

:sos: Astro, I am glad to know the jumpy writing is not just me. It makes it impossible to edit a long post and has kept me from working on the bottle guide. Tomorrow when I have more time, I will post about it under the technical threads and see what Decoy thinks.

That is awesome news, Astro.  For some reason I keep forgetting that the magic is tradable.  -Flame starts to rethink his life- :lolp:

Sorry you were feeling blech, Wendy :(  (huge hugs) and hoping you're feeling well again very soon!  Congrats on getting the bottles!  Yay!  That was no small feat!

Flame has not experienced the jumping cursor.  Although his eyes keep moving around the screen as if they are searching through a maze for some reason... :shy: Maybe when (if?) my eyes return to normal I'll experience JCS (jumping cursor syndrome) ;)

If any of you are running IE8 for your browser.  In the Address Bar, right after where the address is, you should see three "buttons".  First is Compatibility View, followed by Refresh and Stop.  Click Compatibility View, and see if that doesn't help.

I had a problem where I was seeing some members Signatures overlap down into the next post, and when Decoy had me try that Compatibility View, I have not had any problems since.

Princess has tried it, and it worked for her as well.

OMG!!!!!  I thought I was the only one having this problem since like forever!  Posting questions for the quests and replies were just a pain in the arse.  I also saw people's signatures drop down below the black line too once in a while, but had the JCS all the time.  I was running virus scans and thought maybe it was just something new for the boards (cause it only happens on this board) and gave up trying to fix it.

Thanks for the fix.  Glad to know I am not completely insane.  LOL!  :roflmao:

Thank you Red and Pix for helping an old VMK friend of mine obtain her Checkers Bottle other night.  :bighug: She swears up and down that she could not have gotten it without the 3 of us helping her.

Thanks to Red and Pix for helping me as well with Laser Tag - we've been working as teams so Red and I are now down to needing only 2 bottles for each of us!  :bighug: :bighug:  This obtaining focus magic does remind me of that Evil Blackheart quest in VMK--although I do believe this focus magic is very much easier than that VMK quest.  This focus thing can be done without friends helping each other, however it is much more FUN and quicker (when real life allows  :lolg:) with the friends who have been helping each other. For that I thank you dear friends!  :bighug:

We just might get that "focus" magic soon - then I'll be wondering if I need my eyes checked again!   :rofl1:

These bottles really have getten me back into playing more mini-games. We have all four enjoyed giving the space games a go. (Checkers I use clones to get the bottle - but our daughter loves a good game of checkers, so it does have us doing more of those)

It really may be fun to organize some NoBS games on different nights to earn bottles or just have some fun!  :pdrunk:

Ok...with Laser Tag, I'm going back on what I said about blurring people.  It seems like there is no point advantage to blurring your opponents.  I actually think that if you just keep shooting (during that time when a person would have been blurred), you will acquire MORE points or 'tags'.  Just something we've been testing recently :)

So don't worry about blurring anyone.  Just keep shooting the bacheeses out of your opponent...without running out of ammo ;)  The longer your opponents last, and the longer you go without losing ammo, and the faster you shoot, and the faster your opponent moves back and forth, and the more times you 'tag' your opponents without missing...the higher your score should be ;)

Flamanar...all tagged out... :sur:

Post by: PrincessWendyBird on February 18, 2010, 09:46 PM
Flame,
We also noticed that blurring someone doesn't seem to matter. We have one person shooting back and forth like you suggested - with targets moving as they are shot. Our daughter loves being the shooter - and she is good!  :lolg:

One thing King and I have noticed with playing some of the mini-games is that the grid is still abit quirky. I might be one place on my screen and will show in a different place on his. Not consistently, but enough that I wonder if this is what has "Gold" on hold. You really can't Gold release with those issues.

We also tried to play pirates using "Mouse Only" controls and could not shoot. Seems that the double click shooting was not working and we were the first to report it. Who knows how long it was like that - I'm guessing people either just ignored it and played the other way or weren't trying it to begin with.

I am hoping to add to the bottle thread some while I have the chance. Thanks again everyone for the info here!

LOL.  It takes skill to be both the shooter and target in most of the games!  It's funny trying to figure out the fastest way to lose a checkers game!

The games have been very buggy for us.  Last week, anyone who wasn't a top scorer in night fighters or space pirates would get stuck at the last level and not taken back to the lobby.  The only option was to refresh!  Awful.  There's also a few areas in Pirates on the right where shooting at each other does...nothing.  lol.  Many times hits don't register.  Sometimes in Laser Tag, other people magically show up in your fight.  The other night, we had an invisible person with us!  We only saw their chat bubbles!  Night fighters...sometimes a ship will get stuck in the top right of the screen in the second level.  Sometimes it's hard to tell if you're hitting someone or not.  We've found that the list of bugs in the minigames is...not short.  Like you said...might be why Gold is behind.  Might be why they have people crowding into the games for bottles so they have people playing the games to find the bugs.  Dunno.  Just a guess.

(hugs)

Ok.  Some updated figures for Laser Tag.  Played 3 bottles.  Here are the scores.  The first number is the score before winning the bottle, the second number is the score after getting the bottle:

22048-28415
23502-29381
22918-28608

Looking at the scores, I'm guessing that the threshold for getting a bottle in Laser Tag is probably around 25,000 points/credits total out of all games played.

Everytime I see the Laser Tag bottle I think of that Knock Your Block Off game - at least that's what I think it was called -- the 2 "boxers" where u kept punching the daylights out of the other till the head popped up... :lolg:

Question:  in Night Fighers where you have the different ships: I know if you finally win you get the color you were using when you won.   But, can the same person/peep win all of the bottles in different rounds - or - do you need to use a new person to win?

LOL.  I remember mentioning that on another site when we got our first look at the Laser Tag uniforms.  Too funny!  GMTA ;)

Night Fighters: if you're asking if you need to switch out the opponents for each game until a bottle is won, the answer is no.  Keep using the same people.

Also, have we established that you don't have to use the same ship for EVERY game to win that specific ship bottle...or does it only have to be the final winning game that gives you that specific ship bottle?  I haven't tested that yet.  Like if I want a Green Wrath, can I play all the games with a different ship until the last round, and use the Green Wrath on just that round to get that ship bottle?  If you've already tried it, please let me know.  Otherwise, I'll have another 'test' to do.  LOL.  Thanks :)

LOL.  Thanks :)

I think I did play with a green ship, black ship and then finally a blue ship steady until I won - the bottle had the blue ship that I used for most of the games.

But the same person can win more than 1 bottle for Night Fighters?

Awesome.  I will do a test run with the ship colors using all different colors...and see if the last color I use is the ship bottle I receive.  Thx Fun!

Same person.  Aye :)

Hey!  Just updating this thread with a little more info.

'Banking bottles' works!  So if you earned an extra bottle from Space Pirates (just as an example), you don't have to play Space Pirates for that bottle when going for your next focus magic!  This is nice for those who got all the different Night Fighter bottles.  That's one less game you'll have to play in the future for many focus magics!

Just wanted everyone to know that we tested this, and it's a nice time-saver :)

Do we still have today to do these games?  I have played 8 games of fireworks for my daughter's character over the period of the beginning until now and I still don't have the fireworks bottle for her.  With my character I got the bottle quickly.  I get about 6300 each time and that's not including the games she played herself where she scored a few points but her scores aren't very high.  I'm just not sure if I'm wasting my time today trying to get this bottle for her or not.

This morning before and after opening of game time:  I played 10 Checkers games and got the bottle still today.

So I am guessing we might have today to complete any of these bottles

Oh okay ty, I guess I'll just keep trying for her.  Congrats on your checkers bottle!
