Title: How to Make The Ride Pieces fit?
Post by: Antjewel on March 13, 2011, 08:17 PM
Do any of you have any tips on how to get the ride pieces to fit together? I am having a terrible time getting them to line up and work together.  :sos: I put them end on end and it looks right, only to drop or stay suspended in mid air and then it doesn't work. Any ideas? Should I not have any items in the room at all until the ride is finished? If there is already a thread for this question then mods please feel free to merge this and let me know. Thanks, Ant

Grid move and the arrow keys are your friends ;)  Select grid move, then push the down arrow key (you can let go now).  That will hold the piece down while you move it or snug it up against the next piece.  Once you push the down arrow key, you can also raise and lower the piece using the up and down keys.

For invisible ride pieces and some other rides, you can say 'ride on' or 'ride off' to see 'arrows' instead of the pieces.  Makes building alot easier :)  If you're really stuck and can't get it to work, just send me a PM and I'll meet ya on game to help walk ya through it :)

Hope that helps.

Yep, what Flame said! :thumb: Just make sure you hit grid move and press the down arrow before starting to move your ride pieces/furniture.

I always say building on VFK is more of an art form than a science. It took me a lot of practice to transition from VMK building to building here. But, now I kind of like the freedom of being able to stack more, etc.

Good Luck Ant! Invite us for a ride when you are finished! :bighug:

Again, I have no experience from VMK to compare this to.  So this is all I know.  It takes some practice.  Once you 'get it', it's rather easy and goes quickly.

Oh...and I need to meet you in game anyways, Ant, to friend you!!!!!!!  :waveh:

Ant, what Wendy and Flame have said, is the best way to 'make it work'.

If you would like some help, I'd be glad to assist (as I don't have my creative juices working yet, so haven't started mine yet).

You all helped a lot! It is still difficult to get some pieces to flow together but it is so much easier using all of your advice. Flame, I would love to meet up in the game sometime to meet ya. Thanks so much for your help here on the noBS!

Glad to help, Ant :)

Drop me a PM when you're in game.  I'll be around a little later.  For now:  it's time for me to hit the showers  :lolg:
