VFK Palm Tree Quest!

Palms appear in some of the earliest historical documents, chronicalling our long association with these wonderful trees! There are several things that you may not know about palms! Did you know that there are more than 2,500 species of palm trees, and that the "Arecaceae" family of plants includes amazingly diverse species that can be found all over the world, from the rainforest, remote tropical islands and the desert?! They are some of the most productive plants in the world, yielding a wide variety of products from floor wax to Panama hats! Palms also have religious significance to people. Churches distribute fresh palm leaves for their celebrations. On today's quest, let's seek out some shade, and look at the fantastic and exotic palm tree!
