Sigh. Well, it's our turn to ask for help. There was a gas line explosion near us this afternoon...and they have no idea when we'll have power again. I'm posting this from our folks house (why are the libraries around here all closed at 5 pm? :??: :??: :??:)
We finished the scavenger hunt that started last night...but if anything new or special comes out, we'd appreciate any help that can be given with those items that come out today/tonight. We're also caught up to the striped pajamas as far as clothes go...so we don't have anything new. Going to try to get on and see if we can get anything else.
Thanks all and (hugs)

Try to purchase items in single mode! Less lag.

Glad you are all ok :bighug:

Oh my, how scary. When I saw you in game a little bit ago I had no idea what happened. Thankfully you are all okay. I will try to stock up on some new items for you guys too. Hugs!

So scary! Was everyone okay? My friend died in a gas explosion that took her life and her husband, two sons and mother seven years ago. These things really scare me.

Sorry to hear that Sparkle. :(
Flame family I can buy you the new stuff if you need me too as well. Do you have all the pumpkin shirts? Is it just the new ball clothes you need? How many of each do you need?
I also tried buying the new clothes and couldn't do it because of the horrible freezing and crashing. I also couldn't get into the mansion dance room because there was no enter button so I had to jump in from my friend's list. Thank goodness my friend told me about the bags though cause I froze up for the entire dance. I almost missed the bags. :madder:

Aww. Many thanks for everyone's concern. It looks like we'll be ok. The power just came on about 10 minutes ago. We left my folks house a couple hours ago (can only take so much being over there LOL), and came home to a still dark house. Thankfully we have power now...and everything in the fridge and freezer seems to be fine (much relief there).
I was able to get onto VFK for a little while at my folks house, and I was able to get the items that came out tonight (yup Pix...I did the single-mode trick..yay!), and spend a short while at the ball (missed the fireworks :( ).
So thanks again for all the concern. It was pretty scary. We had heard a very loud bang/pop (hard to describe the sound). At that instant, we lost all power. Here, some contractors installing new electrical wires and cables underground were boring horizontally underground running the cables and hit the gas line. Boom. I told my son to run to the front window since I thought it was an accident. He said "there's flames out there". :ahh: Needless to say, I promptly yelled "WHERE?" LOL. He said "across the street", so I started breathing again. The flames were shooting almost 2 stories high, and about 10 feet away from the building across the street, with the wind blowing them dangerously close to it at times. Eventually the firetrucks showed up and hosed the side of the building down...while the gas company tried forever to find the gas shutoff. Seemed like a long time until they got it shut off, but eventually it went out.
The gas company could give me no info on when they'd get the power back on (although everyone but us had power...go figure :hmm: ), so I started checking the libraries around the area to use their internet access. They all closed at 5!! Couldn't think of anywhere else to go, so I took everyone out to eat and stopped by my folks. Fortunately, I was able to connect to their internet and get on game for a short bit. Sigh. Talk about one stressful day... It's scary to think that they were working right under our back windows earlier. God forbid it would have happened there!
Krazy_Kim: what bags?! Did we miss something?
(hugs) everyone :)

A little too much excitement for the flames tonight!

Flame,
King took five extra clones through to get goody bags for you guys from the ball. Just glad you are all ok. Were any of the people working on the line hurt?
Hugs from us,

A little too much, indeed! I'm sure I saw more gray hair when I looked in the mirror tonight when the lights came back on! Thanks for your concern, Fun (hugs) :)
Aww...thanks so much Wendy and King for getting some of those for us. We didn't know anything about them until a short while ago. Sigh. I'm not sure if anyone was hurt. I know they were digging lots of holes and there was an ambulance that showed up. But there were so many fire trucks, police cars, etc. in the way that I could only see the flames above them. They wouldn't let anyone close to the area. I did grab a few pics from a distance...which is fine with me. lol. If there was someone in that hole, though...I'm afraid they aren't in very good condition. If I am able to find out, I will surely let everyone know. Prayers just in case wouldn't hurt.
(hugs) from the Flames. Miss you guys!

Oh my Flame, glad to hear you are ok. There was a downed power wire, down the street from us, a few years ago and we all had to sit outside in our night clothes (we were told we all had to evacuate our houses) watching the wire whip around shooting off sparks. They said lightening had hit it at some point, but its strange because we had none that night and nothing recent so I think it was just and old wire that fell. I am just glad everyone was safe and no one was walking by it at the time.
The bags were given out during the party, but I also had no idea until a friend told me when I had finally unfroze. I am glad Princess can help you out with that and I am happy you all are all right. Hugzzzzz! :bighug:

Lol. Sillies :)
I did ask around today, and found out that there was no property damage done and nobody was injured. So thank God!
I might try to post a picture of the fire here...once everything settles down a little bit and I can take time to...you know...EAT? LOL.
(hugs) again to all

That's what the bowl of Halloween candy is for (or should I say was for). We'll be too busy to answer the door for trick-or-treaters anyways.

Yup! Had the candy next to me while doing the VFK Trick or Treating... :rofl1:

Here's a few pics of the fire. Sorry the quality isn't better...but you get the idea.
Flames were about 2 stories high. They were shooting up from a big hole in the ground:

Hosing down the side of the house across the street. The wind was blowing the flames against it:

Right after the explosion:

There ya have it. Daughter is afraid of flames now. There was a bang out back today (workers are still working, and they dropped some tools on metal), and she ran to the front of the house...afraid that it was an explosion and flames. Sigh... :'(

Aww, (((HUGS to daughter)))
Figures a flame like that would happen when a Flame is near by! Rofl..
So glad you are all safe! ((HUGS))

Wow Flame! That fire sure looked intense and scary. It's especially scary when it's underground because you just don't know where those flames will travel. Reminds me of a big fire that happened in an underground utility vault in the City I work in - the fire was under the STREET! As in your situation, fire shot out of a manhole cover several feet into the air. Took the fire department several hours to put that fire out!! I was lucky, though, because my car was parked in the indoor lot right next to the intersection with the fire. I relieved to have been able to retrieve my car and to find not one car in the lot had any damage from the smoke and heat. Also, the fire started about a half hour after I walked right past the area where the fire happened!!
I too am glad all of you are safe!
-
Woah!!! HOLY FLAMES FLAME MAN!!! (I see you had King over for White Castle Sliders and a camp fire! hehe)
Hugs to your little girl. Sounds like how my oldest daughter would have reacted. :(
-
Thank you for sharing the pictures. Wow, that is scary. Thank goodness everyone was okay. Hugs to your daughter for being on edge. It is understandable though. I think I would be too for quite some time. When can we start making flame jokes again?? jk.
