Today, May 28th, 2017, is the 101st running of the Indianapolis 500 Motor Race at Speedway, Indiana! Every Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend since 1974, "The Greatest Spectacle in Racing" has been scheduled to be held! This historic race is run at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS). This signature race for this venue began welcoming racers in 1909, and this race is considered one of the three most important motorsports events worldwide! On today's quest, let's look at the history of this famous speedway and the Indianapolis 500 motor race!
