Smallworlds has their own Twitter feed.

During the down time for 1.2 this feed can also be viewed on smallworlds.com.

Here is a sample of what a player can see on the home page while the game is down.

I love knowing what is going on.  it is so nice not to have to click click click over and over and hope to get in. 
They just posted they expect the site to be back up at 4:30PM EST.
