papaduck's vintage dragster

papaduck:
Well, I said I'd put up some pictures of our build so here it is at this state of it's progress.

The car is being built to rules that create construction of a car more like those built in the 1950s when drag racing was in it's beginnings an the cars were home built rather than the modern style cars. As such the chassis started out as a set of Model-T Ford frame rails, (1917 to 1925 vintage...true age unknown). The front axle is early 1940s Lincoln Zephyr with 1929 Ford Model-A wheels. Rear axle is early 1960s Ford Mustang. Engine and transmission came from a 1934 Dodge and the body is a fiberglass reproduction 1923 Ford Model-T.

1st shot is the beginning "pile of parts:

2nd shot shows the body in place:

3rd shot includes the papaduck: :lolg:

If anyone is interested I can post a copy of the class rules we are building to.

The finished car will resemble a late '50s early 60's Gas Modified Roadster.
