3/9 Host Jade's Spinner Game
« on: March 09, 2011, 02:06 PM »

Host Jade's Spinner Game is now active. When you get in the room please fill the empty seats right to left.

Tonights winners get the Manaiacal Mechanical Spider.

Your consolation prize will be the Maniacal Mechanical Spider Pin.  Hope to see you there.

ah-ha  Spider.   ;)  It's getting easier to predict when these prizes will show up again.  I figured as much after Monday.  hehe

Queue was moving slowly. Princess Red was the only person who got into the game tonight.

I felt bad for Jade. She is doing her best to keep things moving as smoothly as possible, but players (mostly younger players from what I watched when our daughter was in there) are not following the simple instructions. There is no way Jade can have more than 1 player spinning at once when people won't even sit in the queue chairs correctly.

Also, one kid decided to use his time in her game room to tell her how inefficient the room was and apparently proceeded to tell her how she should improve things. Many of his unsolicited suggestions were things she has no control over. like having multiple hosts running the event. I feel like, with things as they are now and with players not following the instructions in the room, she is doing the best she can to offer something unique in the game.

Well, we did get one spider pin tonight, so I am feeling lucky that one of us got in at all. Hope some others here got lucky tonight as well. Hugs! :bighug:

Yeah, some of these kids can really be a pain.  LOL.  I did find a few problems that were beyond even the kids control, though (which I sent on to VFK):

1)  the chat bubbles cover the seating area.  Half the time I couldn't even see where I was so that I could move over a seat when told to.
2)  when you first get in there, everyone is blueblobs.  Almost impossible to see where an empty seat is until everyone loads.
3)  people wearing those HUGE angel and phoenix wings!!!  OMG!   God forbid you were before or after them!  It was impossible to see where to sit!  LOL

I do agree that the game is very 'inefficient'.  No fault of Jades.  But she's working with a boatload of kids all by herself.  One at a time.  This event is destined to upset alot of players, no matter what.  I like them doing new and different things.  This event could be run much better with multiple hosts and rooms.  It's not like there's a shortage of hosts anymore.  At least not from what I've seen...  :??:  I mean, there's Firefly/Llama/Hawk host hunts.  So?

I happen to like the event...if I can get in.  However, if I'm stuck staring at a screen and nothing happens for 2 hours....I'm................not pleased.  LOL ;)

I finally got in (Mom didn't) about ten minutes before it closed and when I was in the seat I froze up.  This kid was in there whining to Jade about me and when I finally became unfrozen I said sorry I froze up and he said "oh, I thought you dc."  Some people are just impatient.  It wasn't even time for me to spin the wheels yet and not even a sorry, I didn't know from him either.  I didn't win though, but I like that you get a prize even for trying.  I have yet to win on the spin. :lolg:

Spinner games are a double edged sword for me:  I hate that it takes SOOOOO long to actually get a number and get in the room.  But I SOOOOO love that you can get a consolation prize in this game -- I look at it not only as a consolation for losing but also as consolation for having to wait so long!

I am a pin person, so it makes me very happy that the losing prize these past 2 games has been the  PIN, which in my eyes is the better deal!! How many games do you actually stand there with your fingers crossed hoping to LOSE? ROFL.
