3/7 Host Apple's Teleporter Game is open
« on: March 07, 2011, 09:02 AM »

Apple's teleporter game, A Journey to Jupiter, is now open! Come in and meet "Stomp". :)

Room Info:

CAUTION:  The new prize will attack if you click on him!

ETA:  prize info.    Maniacal Mechanical Spider  ** There is a "spider attack!" button to make it light up and raise legs shown below **

Have to add that I LOVE this prize.  Very neat!

Also, I'm not having fun with these new start pieces for a Host Room.  I used to try and "follow the crowd".  But now with these new start poles, it makes it very difficult to tell what porter players are going to.  The players don't load fast enough in the room, so you can't tell.  So much for that!  :(

Adding:  BE VERY CAREFUL where your avatar is walking near the entrance.  Because of the stack up with players in the doorway -- the EXIT is right there as well.  If you go to walk, you might end up walking over the exit on accident, and land in the Space Shop -- never riding on the Host ride.  Yep, happened to me, I'm not pleased -- and Staff isn't helping putting me back in the Host room either.

Thanks Astro.  Yeah this was great.  :hmm:  Starting a new host prize at an event where most kids are in school and parents are at work?  What were they thinking?

I also didn't notice any 'improvement' today with the 'new improved host Q'.  I didn't catch the whole event, but the part I did catch...the Q wasn't kind at all.

The last couple events had 9 rooms open...so the Q flew.   Not so with the 1-room events.  Still.  At least for me.  Also, bummer about the exits being right there at the entrance.  (hugs) Astro.  I hope they get back to you with a prize.

Neat prize.  Kinda creepy (no pun intended :P  ).  Shame this was first introduced while most people weren't at home.  It did sound like Apple was more 'free' today with letting people know sometimes which porters were the winning porters.  Also maybe less 'porter shuffling'.

Well, I know why they try and have minimal events held at that time frame... is to give the UK, etc. a chance.  It's only fair.  And I appreciate VFK doing that.  I don't think they should cater to one single time frame.  Which, most of the time I enjoy this time frame way better, if I'm around and can participate.  I can actually get a IN a host room for once, and hopefully win.  The evenings, it's torture to even try and get in - let alone win.  And, VFK usually holds events at 5PMish my time, which doesn't really work for me.  I've got dinner and kids sports/activities to deal with.  There is so much I miss, and have to trade for.  So I ain't complaining one bit about this time frame!  Dash is supposed to have something at 9AM this week too - I am thrilled!

As far as the queue system.. I don't think this event would have really been a true judgement, on if it truly was an improvement or not.  Granted there was way less traffic in game, so I don't think it's a fair assessment.  I still had a lot of wait time, it's not like I got a queue number right away and went flying into the host room.  I didn't seem to notice improvement really.

I never heard back on my help report, I didn't figure I would.  It's okay I guess, I got in and won anyway.

I would almost bet this prize will be offered for Jade's Spinner event on Wednesday.   ;)

Oh, I don't mind them having an event at the time they did today.  Just the fact that they introduced a new prize at that time.  If it was already out for an event or 2, then whatever.

I do see what you mean about timeframes.  The nightime ones get us, too.  Late dinners.  Stuff that can only be done after .It gets home, etc.  Blah.  If they gave us like a break every other day, things would be much more manageable.

Keep sending help reports.  I had to send a report like 6 times last night...eventually did get help.  I'd send it like once an hour. ;)

Agreed, this wasn't a fair assessment of the Q system.  However, in light of the much lighter volume...and the still uber-slow giving out of Q numbers...I'd have to say it's worse than the Q before the 'improvement'!  LOL.  Dunno.  Whatever.

I'm sure we'll have more chances for this.  Spinner event?  UGH.  Crawling Q........

HOST_Apple's A Journey to Jupiter Teleporter Game is scheduled to be repeated this Friday, March 11 during the night.

If they do have two of the same events with same prizes, I think it is okay if one is during the day and the other is during the night.

Exactly right.  The problem being:  things are being released for such short periods of time that they're getting very hard to trade for them if you miss getting them.  Friday is a long way away.  Hopefully it will be the same prize ;)

We sort of "planned" for this event today, and had school stuff done so we could at least get on for the last 2 hours of this event. When I signed on at 12:45 EST, I actually got all 4 of us in queue right on log in. After that, though, I didn't really notice that the queue was much faster. Like Astro said, not sure if we can really measure that since the crowds were less than normal.

I agree about the ride posts, I couldn't tell if the blue blobs were riding or walking to a ride start. We did get lucky with guesses this time so that was nice. I'm glad to see a few events at these earlier times. Good for our UK friends and gives me a chance to try an event without a mob all in game at once. I would think this would be a prize at more events, haven't had a chance to "play" with it yet. I personally hate spiders, but this one is metal, lol!

True about a new prize.  But, this is VFK... and already more than once they have given out a new prize, that we never saw again.  Look at the Purple Pineapple and Pink Bubbling Hearts.  Never to be seen again.  So, again with being fair, I'm not at all surprised that VFK introduces a new prize to be fair to the UK as well.  Those players could all say, well we missed out on the new prize for both of above, due to a bad time-frame for them.  Right?

Host Apple's Fabulous February Teleporter Game had the same title for a host event, although 1x gave out the Hippo Loveseat and 1x Pink Bubbling Hearts.  So, that being said, I'm not 100% sure that we will have the same prize on Friday.  It could be new, just the same title for the host event.   ;)  VFK has been doing this with these months full of events.  Same title for a host event, just a different prize.

OOO...if you hate spiders, you MIGHT not like this.  LOL.  It gives me spine tingles when it 'attacks' :waveb:

I hope you're right, Fish.i.  I kinda doubt this will be the last of these, but I also think that if we do see it again, it will be a different type of event.  Don't rule out a surprise host hunt tonight.  :notme:

Trading:  not in game.  In forums, yes.  Except they usually go unanswered. lol

Regardless:  crossing fingers!

Not wild about spiders....they belong outside......far away from me. Although some of the webs they spin are pretty with the morning dew on them.

These spiders are kinda funny though I thought with the 'attack' mode.  And I do so love how the people run away after spider flashes those red eyes and the little 'mouth' and legs move

I've not actually seen one of these in action yet; was pretty busy last night last night after getting home.  I think the idea of a mechanical attack spider is just funny.  Will have to have Hero show me one of these tonight.

It seriously creeps me out.  Then again, it really looks like it's tidying your hair when it 'attacks'.  Like a hairdresser.   :laugh2:
