I had avoided the "Free Trials" as I did not want to become too interested in something I would later have to pay for.

I may have to check it out, in my spare time... Is it open when VMK is closed?

I got the Email too.
Went to site and checked to see if it works with my Macs - yep, downloaded a 'plug in'.
Checking to find 'small print'...hmm still looking
After upgrading it sent me to a page to list the benefits of an 'upgrade'

OK, I a have 'signed in'. (Page has speil about 'National Internet Safety Month' and not giving out personal information)
I used my 'VMK' log-on.


Game opened - yikes full page.  It looks like we are only allowed 2 toon characters (out of 6 - 4 say members only)
Mickey and Minnie ask you to choose if you are a girl or boy character... then you choose your shape, color and clothes.
(I am a blue mouse with ugly clothes)
They have scroll down windows to choose your name, or you can choose your own.
(I am aqua mouse until Lab Girl is approved   )

Playing is a bit addicting - you can decrease the size of the game to a window.
It appears you can't use 'chat window' with your friends - you have to be a member.
The 'talking' is all pre-approved comments you choose - some with emotions.

The first bit they have you do a few things to 'learn' and then they set you free... lots of people on here!!

Yes, I got the same email yesterday, and found out this morning that my son did too.

He used to play TT while the VMK rewards (like Tent room for high score on JC), etc., provided codes for a free 14 day trial.  He enjoyed it.. I thought the characters were "out there", so I never tried.

He did say he is going to get back on with this free account.  We both did catch the phrase "can play in ONE of the neighborhoods", which to us meant it is a free trial still.  Just no limit on how long you can use it.

You can't "play" in the other neighborhoods unless you pay.

Really need an "hour stretcher", rather than more games.

My son (17) signed up and has been having a blast with it again.

His only complaint is that it takes longer than VMK to do things, so much time is 'wasted' waiting for TT to load, etc.

Both of of my kids are currently playing the "free" trial..they love it! Personally the music is driving me nuts!!
