I'm sure we've all heard from other sources, but just wanted to pass it on.

Grumpy is in the Hospital. Apparently from a blood clot in his leg.

Get better Grumpy.

Although I already told you on game.. thanks Bright for posting this! Lame duck, posted to the thread "over there" and then started thinking about the chat Gnome and I had just a few hours before he finally gave in and went to the ER. So I forgot to post here.

I will be calling him tomorrow, and giving him the riot act he needs for chatting with me in the middle of the night instead of going to the ER right then!

Silly gnome!

Dara spoke with him today, and has updated her thread to say he is on antibiotics too, as the leg is infected. Will post an update tomorrow, unless Dara beats me, and posts here too.

Update as promised

I just got off the phone. He sounds so very tired, I didn't stay long.

He is on two blood thinners for the clot, an antibiotic for the infection and a lot of pain meds. They will check again for the clot either tomorrow or Friday.. with the goal of sending him home Friday. But even when home, he will need significant time to recover enough to be able to be on the computer.

But he wants everyone to know he is alive, and will be back to roaming the vmk gardens soon enough.

He also said thanks for all for the well wishes!

I will continue to update as we talk again.

Update time again.

I just spoke with Grumpy. He sounds SO very much better today. Nowhere near as tired as he was yesterday, and he even cracked a few of his gnome jokes!

He is anxious to see the doctor this afternoon to find out if he can go home tomorrow.

Again, he sends his thanks to all well-wishers!

Update. This just in from Dara who just spoke with him.. I shall try him later.

Today's update:

Just got off phone with Grumpy. He is, as expected, bored. Not feeling too bad, just hoping to get out on Monday. Blood work shows the clot is slowly beginning to dissolve!

He says Hi to all, thanks again for well wishes.

His daughter is on the way in to see him and bringing a laptop. If he can get a wireless connection he may even post!

The clot has not completed dissolving yet. No chance for gnome to roam for another day or two.

I know how awful it is being in the hospital for more than a couple of days! My husband is bored to death and driving me crazy after his emergency double bypass last Thursday.

Today's update:

Well, seems the gnome enjoys the hospital

(sorry gnome, couldn't resist) , so has chosen to stay until Friday.

Doctor is hoping that by staying until Friday, the clot will have dissolved enough to allow him to go home with "pill" blood thinners to finish the job (as opposed to still needing injections). He is understandably bored, but in good spirits.

I passed on the hugs and wishes.. he is grateful that people still remember him!

Like we could forget!

Sorry, I couldn't resist. Hope that thing dissolves and ya get sprung out of that place. We are all pulling for ya Gnome.

Heal and get better, the hospital staff could probably use a break.

Please try and find a better way to "get away from it all" next time, and keep the gnome home.
