Just an FYI to everyone, so nobody is surprised. The Christmas Shop is dark and closed. There is still snow and winter decorations everywhere, but most signs of Christmas are gone. The tree lot is gone as well.

The member gifts - Carousel Horse Snow Globes are now in Merlin's. (The writable tombstones are gone)

The snowy rooms are now listed under The Land Office.

Guess they forgot about the Feast of Epiphany celebrated on January 6, is the formal end of the Christmas season Also know as 3 kings day. Though we really do not know how many Kings there were. ?

Well, for the first time, I sent a negative message to VFK about this. After all the racing around to aquire items, deal with hunts, wish lists and those bottles... and not to mention my Nutcracker rooms, I finally had some breath and go shopping for the last things I need and BOOM, my jaw hit the snow. I missed out on getting the items I needed for rooms. I had purchased, but have very low/barely quantities on stars, lights and garland, ornaments and candy canes. This just devasted me. They should had issued a warning! At least! So missed out on those and the gift wrap. I expected it to go at least sometime this week, but not so close...

Aww   (hug Pix).  I share your pain in the lack of gift wrap.  Since it was a different store, I thought it might not go away at the same time as the Christmas shop.  Poof.  Not a big loss.  Flame always expects things to go away pretty quickly in VFK, so I planned accordingly (except the gift wrap, which I was least interested in)...although this is a little soon, agreed.  I knew I was 'pushing the envelope' waiting to do the gift wrap...so it's my bad.

Sigh.  Just seemed like the whole season from Halloween on is a blur...

BTW:  they took the word 'YEAR' out of the VFK dictionary again.  Looks like it was only in the 'holiday dictionary'...

Hugs Pixie. They never learned from last year. That was my first negative response. I sent it right after it all went poof!!!

All other games give you warning. Why can't they. Just seems so unfair. Guess not enough people complained. I was going to get more trees. But it is not to be. But I did stock up on stuff probably not enough. But I sense the end was coming and of course no annoucement.

If they want to keep paying members this is the one area they will seriously have to work on. Maybe a nice call to VFK to explain that every good game does give announcements. Well at least the ones I play. Except VFK.

Maybe they could announce a one weekend sale Well it is probably too late but it just really gets me that the simple things they do not get. They could have easily added that in the calender of upcoming events.

One line how hard it that. Oh yah it is not!!!!!

I agree Belle, they should had announce it in some sort of message. Poof without warning is not good. And from what I heard many people went to purchase items today as they could not before because of VFK's events. So we are not alone.

I feel your pain as I needed rugs and stuff too, but what I don't get is why, since it was placed in a new building, that VFK couldn't keep the store open all year round?  I mean with everything that was going on it wasn't easy to buy stuff and not fair for players so why not keep it open.  People could build up credits and then buy what they need when they need it.  I mean why not a Christmas in July?  Why does it only have to be open for about two weeks and then close?

What makes it worse is they close it and say wait until next year. So I still needed some pieces for my last year buildings and they bring out new stuff. So they continue to be unfinished!!!! Seriously would someone give then a call to express our concerns on the lack of proper lead time to know when to panic and buy what you may need before it closes.

Ugh... I needed to get more rugs and ride supports... I have the ride track, but no supports... 

And I know the feeling on unfinished rooms.

I need to find 100 more green gum drops... somewhere....

Oh, so I'm not the only one upset by this . I thought I should get a *few* more ornaments, and a couple more trees yesterday, and clicked fruitlessly on the doorway on Balta looking for the sweet spot, before I realized the doorway was dark and the sign gone. I wish they'd done a countdown or something...

BTW, my clever 12yo daughter showed me (maybe you all know this one already), how to put a ride entrance/teleporter right where I "land" in my homeroom -- to re-materialize in my favorite "seasonal" room.

First of all, Hi Bronwyn and welcome to NoBS!!! I think you will love it here! I think I may have seen you in the fireworks game/lobby a few days ago after the bottles were first released.

Also, I love the tip about the starter room, I never thought of doing that. My starter room is a palm tree I made before we had a grid to build with and I like to leave it untouched. However, it is not an ideal room to enter the game with. Isn't it funny how our kids seem to be able to figure these things out without skipping a beat?  Gotta Love It!

My daughters are refugees from VMK, and begged me for months to join VFK (all the while telling me how terrible it was that I never joined VMK...lol).

I'm hoping I have all the pieces I need to build my permanent seasonal rooms (a suite of Christmas gingerbread and ice block rooms, to join my graveyard/crypt). I'm bummed I never got to send out all my Christmas cards. They really should have left the shops open for another week or two, for all of us who had to wrap up real Christmas before we could get down to working on the Virtual one...

I very agree with you for them having it left open for a few more days! People were racing all over trying to get those bottles and deal with scavenger hunts and really try to get upto date with all the christmas items and boom, its closed.

They should had a count down at least! Or have the staff mention it, "Have you finished your Christmas Shopping?"

This is what I don't like of VFK, they put/place/take off items and events without announcements. Warn the players. It won't take long to throw a few blasts into the game. "Christmas Store will close at midnight"  That was all that could had been done.
