Help my water ride keeps sinking below my rocks this is so frustrating. Any suggestions. I am using grid build but it looks ugly.

I am using grid build too.

If you use the "down arrow", it will take rock or ride piece, and put them on the "floor" regardless of what you already have there.

Use "down arrow/grid" only for the layer you want to touch the floor.

Use just "grid" when you want them to sit on something (like you said the rocks).

try: click the ride piece, then hold the down arrow while clicking the grid move button. Using mouse, Position the ride piece in the same spot as the rock support (it might be inside the rock as both are on the ground at the same spot). Then use the up arrow to raise the river piece until it is just above the rock support, then click to 'release' it. It should then fall down to sit directly on rock support.

Aww Belle, I know I was frustrated too at first.

I used both Duckey's and Golden's methods and they worked well. I just used both at different times.

Another way to position pieces when you have this type of problem:

...and you want to position a piece in the middle area which is lower.  The piece will want to jump from one of the higher pieces to the other...skipping over the middle lower area.  What I do is position the piece on one of the higher pieces, click the down arrow key, then when you move the piece with the mouse, it will now also hover over the space in between.  All you need to do then is click it while it is hovering and it will drop.  I'm not sure it's the best way for this type of situation, but for me it's become something that I can do very fast and with great results.  Goldengourds method sounds very good and I might try that as well.  I'm just used to what I've been doing ;)  Learned alot building a lego wall.  I recommend ppl buy some of the cheap small lego blocks and try to make a wall (doesn't have to be big) with them.  It's good practice. :)  Good luck.

Yes it does. Maybe it's a sign that I shouldn't make a ride? :lolg:

Aww...don't give up.  It sounds intimidating, but the reward is awesome :)  Just takes alot of practice, patience and imagination.  Once you "get" how the grid system and manipulation of the pieces works, it goes REALLY fast :)

Flamanar...someone need stereo instructions???... :waveh:
