Santa Hat? Can someone explain

I was told you get the Santa hat from Santa in the mansion at Victorian Map. Well I have been in the room with Santa's chair many times to find it empty. Did I miss out. I tried off and on Sunday day and night and again this morning after the opening time.
Just wondering what is up with that.

Here's some info. from Fun in another Santa thread below.  She explains it in good detail, her very last sentence to be specific.  The first part is how to get into single-user mode.  If you're still stuck let us know, and I'm sure we can help you further.

Do NOT click on Santa's chair itself because it sits you IN the chair....(I tried that before and it didn't give hat)


I believe you need to be on the invisible lap so click just in front of the chair by the right chair leg as you are facing it. This should give you the Santa hat  :bighug:

I did what you said Fun, but also sat in the gumdrop chair first before clicking the right chair leg while sitting.  I walked in a circle in front of the chair and then it hops you up on the invisible lap.
