The word "Elf" is a No-No in VFK

Okay this is very strange, but that is why I'm posting about it.  Hmmm maybe I do need to get some sleep.   :lolg:

I was talking to another friend in VFK tonight.  They were trying to ask me if I had played Elf Island yet.  However, whatever they were typing, was not appearing at all in chat bubbles.  The only chat bubble that I did see was a separate chat bubble from them saying "are you playing?"  I said "playing what?"

So when I wasn't answering, they were saying "Astro read up."  But there wasn't anything to read.. no chat bubbles, nothing.  I figured out what they were trying to ask me, as this is the only new game that has really opened up that people are talking about.

So I tried typing "Elf"... I could see my chat bubbles with the words Elf on my screen, but my friend couldn't see it on their screen.  On their screen there was nothing.  Just like what I had seen earlier.

VFK has obviously put some kind of a filter on anything that we type with regards to "Elf".

Strange huh?

Thought I would share.

For the record, no staff came to talk to us, and I didn't get any in game messages or pop-ups either.  And "elf" was not dictionary danced, nor did it appear red when when typing it.

Yep, King and I had a good laugh about this late the other night. King did dance "eh.ill.if" and we were totally cracking up by this point. This goes for the word elf by itself and island also. You also cannot say the phrase "Small Worlds".

We were on the phone with them the next day dealing with that family member issue and King did chuckle and they spoke about it a bit. Apparently, there was talk going on regarding other sites. I think Small Worlds was the big concern initially because they were very concerned that it was being discussed in front of kids and it really is not a kid-friendly game. They did not want kids to think it was ok because it was allowed to be discussed on VFK. Talking about EI is clearly a clever move of self preservation with the newest competition on the block. The fact that it does not show up red and you can see your own chat is sort of funny and pretty creative.  :lolg: We were able to figure it out only because we were in the same room late doing a quick trade and we could see each others screens. I honestly forgot all about it until I saw this Astro.

So, you are not crazy.  :crazy2: Well, at least not in regards to this.  :lolg:

This is hilarious :laugh2: Wonder what my signature will show when I sign in. For  months it has simple stated "Everybody wants to be an elf" I wonder if it is still there ROFL  Guess they are getting worried. ( by the way it is play on the song from Aristocats- Everybody wants to be a cat )

VFK makers are shaking in their boots, cause they know Elf Island could steal away a lot of their potential revenue. Can't say Elf, man that is sad...........Fee
