This announcement was so cool especially following the announcement that the original "House On Haunted Hill" (with frightmaster Vincent Price!) would be playing on our televisions (too bad I have Flash 10 so I can't see a picture!  ).  That movie was a favorite when I was growing up.  Of course, now it's a camp classic!  Vat of acid in your basement, anyone???

Thanks PD!  I did see that thread but I'm nervous about uninstalling the Flash 10.  I'm clumsy enough that I'm afraid I'll mess up my computer!  Besides, I have The House On Haunted Hill on DVD so I can watch it without squinting my eyes!

Woot, I was right about them doing something with that House just thought it would be a haunted house that you could walk through for a prize.  However, what they are doing does sound like the VMK Haunted House in some ways.

The Haunted House is now open! Here is the announcement from the homepage with the picture of the clock.


You enter the house from the Victorian map. There are four haunted house rooms and a maze room. Ghosts appear in each room and you click on them. I do not have locations yet for all ghosts, hopefully soon. Here is how the house is set up.

When you enter the house, you enter this room. (I marked the exit into the next room in the pictures below)


After leaving the first room, you enter a hallway room.


Upon leaving that room, you enter a maze. These must be the maze prize walls. This room can be tricky because there are no exit signs. Just walk over to where I circled the exits are located and it will place you in the next room. (There is one ghost in this room at the finish line)


After the maze, you will be placed in this room.


The last room in the house is this room. It exits and places you back to the very first room.


This is what one of the ghosts looks like when they appear and the message you recieve when you find one.




Good Luck Everyone! Oh, and as of this morning, you could trick or treat in these rooms.

Hmmm!  I wonder if they hired Puple Duck to be a ghost.  The ghost on the wall in the above photo looks a lot like she did at closing the other night.

Hugs Belle!   Three ghosts in each room and one in the maze.  

The hallway room has a yellow one that is almost impossible to see. It is above the third window? I think and only a little of it shows. It also does not show up as often I think.

aww,hugs.  When you do the maze, click on ghost at finish line. If you click the ghost you get message you got a ghost. But if you are off just a little, and click the sign, you win a block. I had to go back to get that ghost, and when I did, the maze changed from above pic.

I also noticed for the Maze Room, you don't have to be at the end of the maze to click on the ghost near the Finish sign.  That might save you a little waiting time!

Okay, just completed this and here's my take:

1.  Very cool!  Nice work VFK!  The rooms, the concept, the design.  Well done!
2.  This was fun.  They are starting to really pull me in.  Yay!
3.  Them there ghosts are fast!
4.  Thanks for the tips above because there is a lack of "what to do" instruction that I think could be frustrating.
5.  My tip (unless I missed it somewhere): Say "Trick or Treat!" in each mansion room, including the maze.  There be candy in them there mansion rooms, y'all!

Here's an interesting tip:  I saved that hard-to-see yellow one in the hall room for last.  When it appeared I clicked so fast that I ended up double clicking by mistake and it counted it twice--once for the first 13 and once toward my next 13.  (Said I had 12 to go)  So now I can get that second 13 pretty quick!

The red and yellow ghosts they have in those 2 rooms are really difficult to see if you're not watching closely!

Anyway ... I still don't understand on how to get a maze piece?       Do I have to go and find all 13 ghosts again and then get a maze piece in the very last room, or what??  From reading this thread, it almost sounded like you get the maze piece in the maze room, but that is only half-way through the entire haunted house, if I'm collecting ghosts again?

I'm confused, please help.

You get the clock the first time you click all 13.  Then if you go through and click all 13 again you get a maze piece.  And if you do it again you can get another maze piece.  And so on.....

Thanks so much for your help!  I was so very confused!  I went through again, and I got a block at the end.  For some reason I thought you had to be in the maze room, which you don't.

I had missed two in the hallway cause I had thought I saw something there, but they were to fast to really see on the first try.  I do really like the hunt for them even if it does take a while for them to show up though.

Just a hint there are 3 ghost in every room, but the maze room.  The maze room has it at the finish line.

I just noticed when I did the hunt for the wall pieces I got two different wall pieces.  Same wall, but different sizes.  That beats legos.  LOL!

The Blue Ghost comes out all the time, the Green Ghost are about medium, but the Red/Orange/Yellow Ghost takes longer to come out.

Update:  I cleared my cache and shut down and restarted my computer and now it is working!

For some reason I can't even enter the haunted house.  I walk all over the place and it won't let me in yet I see everyone else disappearing and going in.  I know there was another person with me having the same problem.  Does anyone know why this is happening?

I didn't have any problems, but I know I heard others saying they couldn't enter and didn't know why. The exit spots to enter the Haunted House from map are very tiny and difficult to see though.

Found out that you can go straight down the maze instead of doing the long way around.

Thanks VFK for allowing people to use fairy magic in the haunted house, like they really need the speed to get around. I am so tired of complaining to you about the lag/freeze up issues with this magic, and you not doing anything about it. I have went back to flash 9 and the issues still exist.

You can stick the fairy magic where the sun dont shine!

Here are my 2 tips for your re-check.
Did you get one at the finish line of the maze? 
The other room I would double check is the hall style room that has 3 big windows on the left.  One of the three ghosts in that room is up really high and is difficult to see.

This reminded me of the people that bring their Horses into the Mansion too.    

The horses are all over blocking exits.  I quite honestly don't understand why a horse needs to be rode around in the mansion to begin with anyway.

The fairy and wolf does bother me when doing mazes ALOT.  I could be walking along really fast and then a fairy/wolf comes in and it looks like I am in slo-mo so that is why I don't use magic myself cause I don't want others to suffer like I do.

Yesterday I was able to get through the maze by going straight like we did the corn maze, I just used the arrows Down and Right at the same time. Yay, I could walk through walls.
