Only thing I have seen it do is have a cloud of smoke move around inside the ball when you set it in the room.

Hey now!  One peeps "strange" is another peeps "cool!"

It makes me think, "Boil, boil, toil and trouble, Fire burn, and cauldron bubble!"  Yeah, I know - it's not a cauldron. :)
