I ask each of you how many characters can you log into VMK at once? (From one computer.)

I know that if you have several computers it is easy enough to log one or two characters on from each.

It is amazing what can be done from a fast computer, with a fast connection...

Yes that is 13!!!

And there in the room you can count them all, plus two witnesses.

I did get one more logged-in but then the computer got a bit too slow and they began crashing.

So is this a VMK record or just a personal best?

Yes, I was one of the witnesses! On as my clone PurpleDream, who simply can't get enough Decoys!

I was also on (and have pics for both) the last time you had a record which was 10 decoys. Congrats on the new record, until Yavn finds out and you begin losing clones!

btw, the best I can do is 3 at a time on one computer.. I know, totally lame!

Wow I get 8 tabs in Firefox before it drags to almost a halt on my new PC, but only about 3 with vmkpal before it chokes.

Give us some stats on your PC+connection! How does he do it?

Here are the stats:

PC
Intel Core2 Duo 6600 @ 2.40GHz
2.00 GB of RAM
Windows XP Pro

Connection
Dedicated T-1 Line

I'll have to try that Firefox tab method.

At your 8 to 3 ratio compared to VMKPal, I should be able to get about 34 or so in.

(Of course they could not be in the same room.)

Omg that is just wicked fast!Â I have cable and I am able to get 2 on for a very short period of time before shutting everything down.

Right now I can log in 0. I try for hours and hours everyday, but my stinking

bar won't go past the 1/3 mark.

The most I have tried is probably about 10 back during the everest event. I would probably get cascading failure if I tryed to do anything with them. If I am running people for host events usually use 2 computers with the most at 3 on each. The other night for lily's Half time show, which I normally would not bother with I remebered she has a prize room teleporter in there to exit so I cranked them up and had 6 on one computer. When they started loading in the room I had a hard time getting anyhting but a white screen. Everything eventually did come into view and they all got their chair going straight out the teleporter.

The best way to use VMK Pal is not to. My opinion. But, I have 26 years of IT experience to tell you that whenever you start using third-party software, you open yourself up to other problems.

There are many out there who live and breathe VMK Pal and are about to flame me, but this is my experience and opinion.

I too am in the IT Field and have been working with computers for over 20 years.

There will be no flames here.

Just a "I humbly disagree."

I have some systems I use just to "try out" new programs, before using them on my main systems. I did so with VMKPal, which is just a wrapper around IE, and found no problems with it. I have since used it frequently, though not exclusively, for my VMK playing with no issues for quite a while. (I have not so great a memory, and am equally bad with dates, but I have been using it since before it was 1.0.

I will say, try it yourself if you are interested but, as with any "third-party" software use it at your own risk.

"To each their own" (No flaming from me Sure!)

I LOVE VMKPal. I use it exclusively and have since I had asked Decoy what he thought of it and he checked it out for me. (As you can see he uses it too.)

I admit my three biggest reasons for this "love affair' are:
1) I don't have to remember all my mules login names, VMKPal does that for me (now I do also use it for the passwords and have never had a problem, but I know of a few who believe their account was "hacked" into because they put their passwords on Pal). You CAN choose to just use it for your login names and put in your own passwords.
2) I can so quickly snap a screen print, and (if neccesary, such as for my posts about new items) crop them all within VMKPal, which allows me to save directly to my computer without needing another app to crop out things not desired to publish, such as the borders of your system tray etc.
3) Pal has a magnifier! Now I admit my eyes are very bad, but even my son enjoys using the magnifier. Some of VMK's items are so small, such as the pins, that you cannot see the wonderful Disney artwork.

As Decoy has already provided the link to their site, I will not do so. But I would like to suggest, Birdmom, that you do at least check out their site.

I have to speak up about VMK Pal. I tried it and found it to be annoying, and since it is a third party program, it is just one more thing to start up. I use Firefox solely for VMk and found it works awesome for me since it has most of the same features as VMK Pal

I use VMK Pal, but not exclusively. I've not had any problems with it whatsoever. I'm going to probably start using it exclusively though for the photo options to take screen prints. I was using "Hello" (instant messenger) to take photos but it has messed with my computer so it is gone now. Without VMK Pal though, I wouldn't be able to sign on as many accounts as I do when needed.
