Gaia Aquariums
« on: September 19, 2008, 12:02 PM »

After months of top secret development, we're pleased to reveal our latest project: Gaia Aquarium! We'll soon be giving every member of Gaia their own fish tank to decorate, take care of, and show off.

Feast your eyeballs on this:

We're busy putting the finishing touches on Gaia Aquarium right now and hope to release it very soon. Look for Aquarium to be a constantly-evolving experience, with new features, fish, and decorations being added all the time. In addition, please take note of these fishy facts and features:

Each aquarium will come with a selection of starter fish and a mysterious clam that grants daily rewards, ranging from Gold to items. The happier your fish, the better the reward.

You'll be able to win select aquarium goodies from the Daily Chance.

Gaia Aquarium will have its own dedicated shop for fish food, backgrounds, and decorations. There will also be some premium aquarium items on sale in the Cash Shop.

You'll be able to show off your tank in your profile, sig, or on the forums.

For various health and safety reasons, including high levels of delicious mercury, anything you catch from fishing won't be compatible with your aquarium.

Just letting everyone know that the Aquariums are out and can be found under the My Gaia tab.  Off to go explore how it all works :)

Here is a link to the Aquarium About Page http://www.gaiaonline.com/aboutaquarium
You start off with 2 Goldfish (life expectancy: 2 weeks), 1 Arrow Fish (life expectancy: 6 weeks), and an Overseer (decoration that monitors how well you are taking care of your Aquarium).

So far the items in the Phin Phang store can only be bought with Gaia Cash.  Nothing for the Aquarium can be bought with Gold unless you go to the Marketplace and buy the over priced Items.  :td:   And I also did my daily chance today and nothing for my Aquarium.  :td:

Hope my fish don't get mad at me because I am cheap and won't buy them anything expensive.  :lolg:

Nope. Mine is going fine.

Maybe just delete you temp files and all the stuff. ;)

Thanks for the tip! I guess I hadn't cleared that out in a while.

Is anyone else getting a general error message when trying to use the aquarium items? It keeps saying that I can't open the items.

Everything was going fine until I went over to the VMK Guild to view some threads and I keep getting a Data Base Error.  Now I'm getting IE cannot display the webpage.   :??:

Well, I just logged back in for a second so I could reprot if I was having any loading issues.  I went to my tank and got a message. " Your Aquarium is undergoing maintenance, please check back soon!"  Did I break it already?  Maybe it was that aqua blue stereo receiver I got from the daily chance an dropped in there.  Aqua means water in Spanish...right?
 :hmmmm:

Anyway, I do think Gaia is having issues.  I also just read in the forums there are some inventory related issues to the aquarium items in the cash shop.

Gaia was running slow for me today...my fish are also wishing for an early death, which may come. After Gaia's mistake of giving me 3 backgrounds instead of 1, and none of the 25 gc items I clicked on and purchased, I don't think I'm ever going back to that store.
