As the Olympics are just about to begin,  I thought it might be interesting to see which Summer Olympic sports you like to watch.

I enjoy the gymnastics, weightlifting, and am really looking forward to archery  (yeah this duck has been used as an arrow before.. )

We enjoy swimming and diving here at my house. My hubby was a swimmer. (back in the good old days hehe)
I like track and field and basketball. (those were my sports back in the good old days  )

Well I like watching all the olympics especially the touching stories of the athletes. (the vinettes) I wil watch most that has Canadians in it though I do not expect many medals. Since it has always been the pathetic Canadian attitude to do your personal best which stands for the secret cop put (we have not put enough money into great training facilities and funding to get them to the podium.

Well until the announcement that Vancouver will host the 2010 Winter Olympics. They now have a program started as soon as they got them titled On the podium which major money is going too.

As for these Olympics Toronto Canada was going up against China so they better be a great Olympics cause it would have been us next in line which would have been so cool.

So my favorites to watch would be swimming, track, basketball, (cause I competed competively in those. Rowing Canadians strongest sport, gymnastics, boxing, soccer females, cycling wheel chair track demostration. Will not watch sailing, field hockey, weight lifting, shooting events, field events cause they boring. Water craft except maybe the one we have a chance for a gold medal in *kayak*

So there you have will have in on my TV the whole time

Dang, I have never seen those!  Bet they can't find enough quality gnomes to do this with, so that is why it doesn't appear on the site.  I would love to watch that!

Dang, I have never seen those!  Bet they can't find enough quality gnomes to do this with, so that is why it doesn't appear on the site.  I would love to watch that!

I like to watch gymnastics, weightlifting, swimming and diving. 

The opening and closing ceremonies are always great to watch, but maybe that's a given, and doesn't really count as an event.

My favourite sports to watch are badminton, mountain bike, swimming and pole vaulting.

Gymnastics! Those women make me hurt watching them on the balance beam. My husband always groans in pain when they do their routines on those 3 inch wide beams.  And men's diving and swimming, for obvious reasons, hehe.

Don't usually catch much for summer ones except some of the gymnastics - although hubby says he can't imagine putting his size 13 feet on such a tiny beam.

The beer drinking and hot dog eating contests are always fun too.

Well, King was hoping with all the talk of the pollution over there they might add a "Gas Off"   as an exhibition game this year. But since all of our gassy folk are present and accounted for, I guess not.  

At our house, we really have many events on and we usually keep track of medal counts as a part of homeschool. But, I'd say our favorites would be:
Opening and Closing Ceremonies.
I'm with Belle, we love the personal stories of so many of the athletes.
We love gymnastics. It amazes me to watch them do what they do.
We also love to watch the swimming and diving. (my dad was a swimmer - his specialty, the butterfly)
Many of the track and field events will keep our interest as well.

To be honest, almost any event will interest me if there is an interesting story to go along with that event. However, I am not one to watch the many soccer, baseball, or basketball games. Highlights and scores will suffice for me there.
