Coming Soon: Gaia's New Arenas! - looks real interesting

I would expect to see to awesome art from Days coming out of this new feature from how it looks.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For the past few months, we've been working on a gigantic overhaul of one of Gaia's core features: the arenas. In a few days, we'll begin a public beta test of our brand new arena system, which is positively bursting with improvements. For a detailed look at what's changing, please read on!
Cool new features:
We've added more arenas! There are now three art-themed arenas: painting & drawing, photography and comics. There are also three brand-new writing arenas: fiction, non-fiction and poetry & lyrics. The avatar and housing arenas are now much better integrated with the other arenas.
There's a new contest arena! Occasionally, we'll run contests for the best themed avatars, artwork, item designs, writing and whatever else springs to mind. Stay tuned for some fun competitions and awesome prizes.
Our customizable arena feeds will notify you on stuff like new comments, new work by your favorite artists and more.
The layout and interface of the arenas are totally redesigned, making everything look and feel more consistent and integrated with the site. Great art demands a stylish gallery environment!
A few things to keep in mind:
Ratings are now based on a five-star system, making it more consistent with other rating schemes across the site (and across the whole internet, in fact). While you'll only be able to cast votes in whole stars, the averages that the site generates will be just as detailed as before, down to quarter-stars and decimals.
There will now be a fee of 100 Gold to submit your work to the art and writing arenas. This small fee is in place to encourage people to take the arenas seriously and submit their best work. We don't want the arenas filled with rule-breaking entries and spam. Voting is free, as always.
Although this feature is in the beta stage, we'd like to encourage you to treat this arena as the real thing. Please make sure you're putting up real entries, and take the time to rate and comment on people's work seriously.
As we launch this beta, the entries from the old version of the art arena will not be visible in the new arenas. We'll be working on migrating all the old entries, ratings and comments over the next few months, but it will take a while. If you'd like to re-submit your old arena entry into the new arenas, please feel free to do so; in order to prevent duplicate entries, we ask that you remove your entry from the old arena after you repost it.
When we do move the old art arena entries over, they'll all be placed in the "Painting & Drawing" section, which should be the most logical place for most of them.
The old arenas will still remain open during the beta test, so you can take care of any unfinished arena-business in the meantime.
At the beginning of the beta launch, access to the new arenas may be "metered," meaning that only a limited number of people will be able to access the feature at any given time. This is to ensure that we've optimized the feature well enough that it won't crash if 100,000 people all jump on it at once.
The beta test will begin very soon! We'll use this testing period to work out any remaining bugs and kinks, and we're eager to hear your suggestions and feedback about ways to make this feature even better. Once the beta starts, we'll be putting up a feedback thread where you can share your ideas and opinions with the Gaia team.
That sounds awesome. As they have it now, it has to be related somewhat to anime (at least that's what i remember), and that just isn't where my interests lie. :no:
