Wii Fit
« on: May 09, 2008, 02:58 PM »

I'm guessing that Wii Fit is out over your side of the pond.  I got mine just over 2 weeks ago and both David and myself love it.  I've lost 3 lbs and my balance is much better.  I try to do at least 30 mins every day and can always feel it the next day yet it's fun whilst exercising.  Both David and myself have different strength and weaknesses and it can be really funny watching each other.  David was so funny when trying to do step aerobics  :laugh2:

If anyone else has it, what do you think?  Does it help your fitness and weight target? :weight:

very interesting.  I was wondering if it was a game or if it really gets you fit. If that makes sense LoL.

A video game that has you losing weight, now that's my kind of game :)

I can't wait until it comes to the states... i have been saving up for it... well not really... i had to buy mario kart xD

I could be wrong about it being available here, but I know I just read an ad for it in a magazine yesterday.  So I gathered it was here already.

btw, loved the video you showed me Emma, it was WAY cool to see you can play at exercise!

I think this looks so cool, but I cannot get over the initial cost of buying the game console.  Aren't they around $400???  Just thinking about spending that for a game gets my heart rate up.   :lolb:

They cost around £180 in the Uk, roughly $350. they had a promotion on them at Christmas here so my brothers got one to share as their main christmas present from my parents... where as I got a suitcase and a box of malteesers  >:(

Anyway, I sneak on it from time to time and play Wii fit, and always seem to get the boxing on my training thingy so Fee will tell you rightly that I can pack a punch. I was surprised at how much it tires you out after a few hours playing games hehe. Now to tell tweedle dee and tweedle dumb that my birthday present will not be a Wii fit for their Wii... hmmm :uhuh3:

I saw something in the paper for this too.  I think it arrives in the states 5-19 or so.  Because they were advertising how you could pre-order it for Mother's Day and when it would be arriving.

I also think the price tag for the Wii Fit was around $80.00.

The actual Wii game console is usually around $250.00 everywhere around here.

I think it's actually cool that it can help you lose weight, and sounds like it's fun at the same time.   :thumb:

I'm not the fittest person in the world but David is quite sporty and we both noticed that we could feel it the next day, the odd little ache from a muscle lost long ago lol.  I think the only draw back for me is that you should use it everyday and when you do it weighs you and calculates your BMI everyday so you get a bit obsessed with if it has gone up or down.

Yeah That was totally funny.  :lolg:  But I guess it is a bit better than kids just sitting there and playing video games. Now they just need to make a weather proof one so the kids get active and get out side too.

So it sounds like the Balance Board thing has a scale in it as well, to weigh you??  I didn't know that!  I can see how you can get easily obsessed then with doing the Wii Fit everyday!

LOL!! The step-up-on-the-white-thing game sounds awesome!!!

I have yet to invest in the Wii itself. We have PS2 and XBOX (not 360) and the Nintendo Cube and..... Well you get the idea. The thought of another game console in my 800 square foot house, I just wouldn't know where to put it. I already keep my drums in the living room. And btw, playing the drums is a pretty good workout too. :)

Giving this a bump, well ... just because!  If you were on the fence about getting a Wii Fit, or trying it ... It's a must do!

I am LOVING the Wii Fit!  Woot!    :wavet:

My favorite games on it so far are the Table Tilt and the Hula Hoop game.  Yes, I look like such a dork when doing the Hula Hoop game, but it's really a great work out!  Not easy to do!  I like the Basic Step Aerobics too.

And the funniest moment so far was when the Wii Personal Trainer yelled at me, when I was doing Push-Ups.  He knew I was taking a break, and I got scolded for it.   :uhuh:  ROFL!  I hate push-ups.

Fun Stuff!!   :2thunbs:
