Fall is here, and it is nut harvest time! Whether your favorite nut treat might be peanuts, hazelnuts, pecans or even exotic macadamia nuts, nuts have long been an important supplement to people's diet since ancient times. Archaeological evidence shows that these tasty treats in a shell, have been enjoyed by ancient peoples from all over Europe and North America. They even had special nut crackers called "nutting stones" for cracking difficult to open nuts. In addition, nutty sayings and expressions have become part of our language and culture over time. On today's quest, let's look at the history of nuts!
